Keyboard shortcuts in QBO

I'm using QBO and the tab key is no longer allowing me to move between fields. I've cleared the cache, updated the browser, and used a different computer and the problem persists. This is only an issue when entering Bills and the shortcut works for different transactions and in different fields. Is there a fix for this or is it a bug?

Keyboard shortcuts in QBO

It's good to see you here in the Community, AdrienneRCS. I'm here to help and make sure you can use those keyboard shortcuts again in QuickBooks Online.

Have you tried accessing it in a private window? This will help us know if this is a browser or cache related issue. We'll use these shortcut keys to open one:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If the keyboard shortcuts works, then we can go back to your regular browsing window and clear it's cache. After removing some outdated and corrupted files, don't forget to restart your browser. This will also help to start the browser in a clean slate.

Alternatively, you can check and use other supported browsers that works perfectly with QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around and make sure we provide all the help that you need. Take care and enjoy a wonderful day!

Keyboard shortcuts in QBO

I work at an entry level position, where I use Quickbooks desktop. Here I have to create a lot of new jobs in Quickbooks. To speed up my workflow I try to only use keyboard shortcuts and have managed to do so with the exception of having to click on the tabs, when adding a job. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to shift between these tabs or a workaround? Thank you

Keyboard shortcuts in QBO

Hi there, @Pearl189.

I'll help share details about the shortcut keys to use in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

As of the moment, the keyboard shortcut that'll shift between tabs to create a job in QBDT is unavailable. For now, here's the list of the key shortcuts to use available in QBDT: Keyboard Shortcuts in QuickBooks Desktop.

While the option is not yet available, I suggest letting our product developers know about your request by sending feedback. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Under Product Area, choose Other.
  5. Enter a few words describing how using a shortcut key in creating new jobs helps you work efficiently.
  6. Select Send Feedback.
  7. Click Close Window.

You can also check out this link for updates about the recent and upcoming changes in QuickBooks: QuickBooks Product Updates (QuickBooks Desktop and Online).

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got questions about creating jobs in QBDT. Use the Reply option below and surely I'll be here ready to assist you. Take care and stay safe, @Pearl189!
