The feature is available in all edition of QB Desktop. You may install the trial license of QBD 2021 Pro edition to learn how it works. Once you are ready to proceed, you may purchase a one time license of QBD 2021 Pro 1 user worth $299 or QBD 2021 Premier 1 user worth $499 from a few partners to save your cost.

Welcome to the Community, Yogi.

The Loan Manager feature is available in all editions (Pro, Premier, Accountant, and Enterprise) of QuickBooks Desktop. You can use this link for reference: QuickBooks Loan Manager.

If you want to use QuickBooks Online, you can track the loans manually. You can follow the steps in this article: Set up a loan in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks you for the information. Once again, the desktop version is mor efficient for me than the online version. Online has alerts, so why can it not include Loan manager which reminds you to pay a non-A/P obligation?

Hi there, @Yogi.

Being able to receive alerts for loan manager is beneficial as you are less likely to miss a scheduled time. Rest assured that I'll relay this message to our team in concern here on my end and add your vote for this one.

While we continue to make your experience with us even better, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Online Blog to get the recent news, information about the latest features, and updates.

Meanwhile, you may take advantage of the Recurring Transactions feature. You can create a template and set it as a reminder for your non-A/P obligations.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Recurring transactions.
  2. Select New.
  3. Choose the type of transaction to create, and then select OK.
  4. Enter a template name.
  5. Choose Reminder.
  6. Fill in the necessary info.
  7. Click Save template.

Once created, you can find these reminders on Dashboard in the Tasks section. Then. select View reminders. Refer to this article for more info: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Why is loan manager being discontinued?  It is such a helpful tool.  We hesitate to move to the online version because it isn't included there and are very disappointed it has been discontinued in the 2022 version.

Hi windybush,

I recognize your need for the Loan Manager. Intuit has stopped offering this feature in the latest version of QuickBooks for some reason, but you can still track loans manually. You can also look for a third-party app to help you manage your loans.

Here are a couple of articles for your reference:

It's really poor that this feature has been removed. This will keep me from updating as I need that feature. POOR decision on the part of Intuit

POOR decision on the part of Intuit Have been using it, NEED IT!, but am guessing Intuit does not give a crap about their customers.
