We have Locations (and Classes) set up in QBO Plus. We run a Financial Activities By Location to check we are posting transactions correctly, to each of our locations, so we can see I&E by location. There are several items in the "Not Specified" column, but when we try and open the transactions to edit them and correct (or insert) the Location, we can't get it open with a Location box available to make the edit. What are we doing wrong?
We can do a few troubleshooting steps to edit the transaction, @ASF.
You can normally modify the transaction and select the correct location in QuickBooks. Otherwise, I suggest logging in to your account using a private browser. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed pages, thus causing some unusual responses. This mode will not save any history, making it a great place to identify browser issues.
You may use these shortcut keys that I've listed below:
Then, select the transaction in the report and make the changes. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete stored site data and improve the system performance. Also, you can use other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary problem with QuickBooks.
You'll want to delete or make a location inactive. I recommend checking out this article for more details: Set up and use location tracking.

Hi,
I have read through what you sent me, but I am afraid I have tried using the Google Gtrl+Shift+N (that just opens an Incognito window), but it still does not seem to let me edit the location field on a selected transaction.
I do acknowledge that it may be my own inexperience with QBO, but need to find the solution,a s we have an ever-increasing problem with this, and our reporting remains inaccurate, to the extent I cannot resole the problem. Also, I am confused by your saying "You'll want to delete or make a location inactive." Why would I?
Your kind advice for a novice user will be much appreciated!
