I do manufacturing and I use bundles to sell complete items that contain about 35 items each. This seems to seriously bog down QBO. Multiple "My Experts" calls later, I was told QBO cant handle that much data in an estimate or invoice. So I am wondering what other manufactures are doing when they build an item out of multiple components to sell it. Would calling all the items in my bundles "non-inventory" items eliminate the lagging issues? If I create and invoice or estimate and I sell 3 or 4 bundles (each bundle containing about 35 items) I will have a growing lag in the program. Every time I move the cursor to another filed it lags. It starts at a 30 second lag then builds to about 5 minutes. Some of my bigger estimates or invoices can take 2 hours to build. Desperately looking for a solution!!
Hello there, Tshockley.
This isn’t what I want for you to experience while using the online program. Like all modern web-based apps, QBO and its performance depend on the following: Computer’s processing power, amount of available RAM, and bandwidth of your internet connection.
If it’s below the system requirements, it can cause unexpected behavior in the program. Check out this guide to help narrow down the reason for slow performance: System requirements for QuickBooks Online.
To resolve the issue, follow the recommended steps in the following article and proceed to the How to improve performance section: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?
For your other concern, there’s no need to change the item type to non-inventory. This is because the category doesn’t slow down the process of the online program.
For additional resources, here’s an article that contains resources to resolve browsing issues: Troubleshooting browser problems.
Don’t hesitate to leave a comment below if you need help when working in QBO. I’ll be around to assist further. Have a great day ahead.

No this doesn't help. It's still long. any other solutions?
Let's get this working so you can work in the program efficiently, PALA.
Are you also getting a delay when working and opening pages in QuickBooks Online? As explained in the first response, the program relies on your computer's processing power, available memory (RAM), and the bandwidth of your Internet connection.
Have you also tried restarting your computer or device? Aside from that, you can also close any other programs or tabs that you're not using. Each tab or window that is open uses your system's resources, which might have caused the issue. update your browser.
It's also recommended to update your browser, disable browser plugins or extensions that you don't need while working in QBO. Follow your browser's instructions on how to do these tasks.
If you're still getting the same result after the troubleshooting steps, I would recommend reaching out to our phone or chat support teams. They can take a closer look at this to determine what's causing the lag when working in QBO.
Here's how:

No that doesn't help. We've tried it on different computers, different companies. It's always having long lag times. Tried all your suggestions. Still very long lag time. Once you hit around line items with bundles added to a sales order, there is about a 30 minute wait to add just another line. This is not functional.
Clearly an issue with QBs. I have the same issue but with much smaller bundles (4 to 6 items in a bundle). It even happens on non bundled items. The problem has gotten significantly worse the past few weeks. Something for sure is wrong on QB's end. Not a cache issue because I cleared my cache multiple times and it happens on multiple browsers on multiple computers. Not a PC computing power. I have a very high end system. Not a bandwidth issue. Ran multiple speed tests with support and all come back fast. Everything else in QBs works fine, just invoicing having problems Support told me I have a lot of customers in my file so that may be an issue? What? Why would having a lot of customers in my company file cause my invoicing to grind to a halt when I am dealing with only one customer invoice? Help!!
I am having the same issue. Clearly a QBs issue with my company file. I have tried on multiple browsers on multiple PCs after clearing the cache. My bandwidth is fast and was tested multiple times by support. My PC is a high end PC with extensive memory.
I have been using the same setup for the past few years but the last few weeks the invoicing has grinded to a halt. Support has no suggestions other than the clear caches, etc. Please let me speak with someone who can really troubleshoot the issue. Extremely frustrating. Please help!
I appreciate you for taking the time in doing the basic troubleshooting steps, @matthewut.
May I ask what error message appears on your screen after the process? It can help me further investigate this case for you.
Allow me to explain how this happens further in QuickBooks Online.
There are three possible causes why a page doesn't load completely. Take a look at the examples below, and see if they apply to your situation:

Christine,
None of the three issues outlined below applies to our company or this issue. I have been a customer for several years with the same software, hardware, business processes and this issue has really only been hitting us the past few weeks.
The only error I get is when Google Chrome asks me if I want to kill an unresponsive page. The problem is the lag. If I create a new invoice and click on the first line on the invoice to add a product nothing happens for 15+ seconds. Then once the box opens so I can type it takes 10, 20, 30, seconds or even longer before my text appears in that box. It will take several minutes to add an item to the invoice.
This is not a hardware or bandwidth issue. It has to be something with my company file or something on your end. I am willing to try anything because right now we are dead in in the water.
Thanks for the prompt response, @matthewut. I'm here to make sure you get pointed in the right direction for support.

Has anyone had this problem resolved? I have called support several times an had no solution. We get told to upgrade our QB Online to the higher tear as its better. All that has done for us is cost us more money with not real solution. Building estimate takes an eternity. Its hours of lost time for us.
Thanks for following this thread, SquareEye.
I've checked from our records and haven't found any ongoing issues about the problem you're having. Let's perform some steps to determine the potential cause of why QuickBooks is running slowly.
Pilled up data cache or browsing history causes unusual behavior to the browser that affects the performance of your QuickBooks Online (QBO). To isolate this, let's open your account via an incognito window and process the invoice from there.
Here's the keyboard shortcut keys:
If it works fine as suggested, then we'll need to clear your regular browser's cache to start with a clean slate. Also, you can use other supported browsers as an option.
See this article for more details: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow? It also includes video tutorials on how to run the speed test and its result.

Unfortunately, these recommended fixes do nothing for us. If were working on a small estimate it works fine. The moment our estimate goes past item 17 using grouped items it slows down to the point where every click takes 2 min for every reaction. We can use our basic computer in the office or one of our super computers and it makes not difference on QuickBooks online. Just for reference our internet speed is 700Mbps/700Mbps. That also doesn’t help us. Please fix this.
I have the same issue, but with mine, I have a bundle that contains 3 items, and I sell it numerous times on the same invoice, I enter the first bundle, and it appears instantly, everytime I add another bundle it gets progressively and noticeably slower and slower. by the 7th entry, it takes 5-10 seconds for it to appear.
There is no solution to this, we've been dealing with estimates and invoices being slow for about 3 years now. We've checked our hardware (our computers have 16-32gb of ram), our network, tried in incognito, cleared our cache, tried different browsers and more. The fact that multiple people are saying the same thing clearly shows that QBO/Quickbooks has an issue that for some reason doesn't seem to be getting fixed.
It's honestly insulting to be told multiple times "have you cleared your cache" when I bring up this issue.
The only true help I've had with QBO is the developers over in India, other than that QBO's help on this and other issue has been terrible. I would go as far as being the worst customer experience I've had to date.
I have lost hope from this being resolved in a timely manner, if at all. You can see what a companies values are by how they all act and communicate, and unfortunately from horrible customer service with Quickbooks to lobbying to make filing taxes harder so that you have to go with the paid version with TurboTax just as a couple of examples, this shows the values of the company is not it's customers.
