My help key is not working on QB Desktop

I am trying to open the help tab on my quickbooks desktop so I can chat with an agent to make sure I have all my information set up correctly under the National Paid Sick Leave Credit because when I run a payroll it gives me a warning that I need to enter the state agency otherwise it will show I have not paid taxes. The help button just spins and no menu opens. I HATE that I can no longer just call assisted payroll! Who can help me?

Let's determine why the Help menu is unresponsive, EDustin.

An issue like this can be fixed by running the Verify and Rebuild tools. This helps us to identify and fix any data damaged. Here's how:

  1. Select File, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows.
If you see Your data has failed the integrity check you need to rebuild your file.
If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.

Afterward, let's close and open QuickBooks Desktop to ensure that it was fully rebuilt. Then, try clicking the Help menu.

If the same thing happens, you can contact us through our general contact link. I've got the steps on how to do it:

  1. Go to this page: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop and select Continue as guest.
  3. Select your QuickBooks version.
  4. Click Search for something else box.
  5. Enter I'm prompted to enter a state when running payroll.
  6. Click Search.
  7. Select either Get Phone Number or Start a Message.
