Need Further HELP

A couple of weeks ago I put a Question out there that my old bills are somehow after being paid they are coming back into QB as Credits, and after further investigation my problem lies when we are going in and deleting some forms then thats when they are showing up some as CREDITS & some are going back into the Bill payment section, Also why does it take so long for me to delete 1 invoice in the send forms section

I commend your thoroughness regarding the old bills, Twiggy11. Let's work together to resolve the delays in deleting invoices in the send forms section.

It's impressive that you've identified the root cause of the issue with your old bills reappearing as credits in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). It happens when deletions affect linked transactions, leading them to revert or display incorrectly.

To assist you further, could you provide more details about your deletion attempts? Specifically, did the software freeze or become unresponsive at any point, and were there any error messages displayed? This information will be invaluable in diagnosing the problem accurately.

If the software was stuck for a long time while you were trying to delete the invoice, I recommend updating your QBDT and running the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This tool helps resolve common issues in QBDT, including performance problems and errors that cause delays during operations like deleting invoices in the send forms.

For detailed steps in updating your QBDT, here's how:

1. Open your QBDT and navigate to the Help menu at the top.

3. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.

4. Click on Update Now and ensure you check all available updates.

5. Once updated, restart your QBDT.

To proceed running the QuickBooks Tool Hub, follow the steps below:

  1. Go back to the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Tool Hub: Fix Set up and File Issues.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

For more comprehensive guidance on troubleshooting this issue, I recommend checking out the article Fix Issues When QuickBooks Has Stopped Working. This resource outlines several potential causes and provides detailed solutions to help you effectively resolve the problem.

Additionally, I’ll share these insightful articles that offer guidance on customizing your templates to enhance their appearance and setting up and utilizing progress invoicing to streamline your billing process and improve cash flow management:

Let's isolate this unusual behavior and get you back in working order, Twiggy. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you in improving the performance of working with invoices in QuickBooks.

Beforehand, let's ensure the QuickBooks installations and the Database Server Manager on the host or server are up to date. To update QuickBooks, check out Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. To update the QuickBooks Database Server Manager, see Install, Update, and Set up the QuickBooks Database Server Manager.

If deleting the invoice takes too long, it can be due to your company data file size. While there are no limits on file size, performance can be hindered if your network can't handle large data files. To improve performance, consider reducing your file size.

Then, I suggest running the QuickBooks Diagnostic Tool to fix common errors or issues with Microsoft components used by QuickBooks.

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  3. Open the QuickBookstoolhub.exe file. It gets saved in the download folder.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  7. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  8. Select QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  9. When the tool finishes, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, follow the additional steps outlined in this link: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

Additionally, I'd suggest checking these articles for more troubleshooting on how to fix the performance issue of QuickBooks:

Just wondering if this will slow down others computers when doing this because when I try to delete just one thing in sent forms it takes forever and I usually have to end task because someone needs to use QB for something I believe there a 6 computers tied to this program I'm new and trying to get things running right but have limited sources if I run this toolbox tool will that bog down all the other computers because we QB for everything here.
