Get 50% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowI was on live support asking for assistance when I posted this message. I was told this is a known issue and is being worked on. I was given no date for completion.
FYI I was also told that the original shipping function will no longer work after the 31st for all versions of QB. Sounds like the answer you get depends on the person you talk to. Guess we all get to wait and see on Monday. While we wait to see if QB pulls off a fix in 2 days, I am writing an SOP for shipping packages via the UPS website.
We are unfortunately preparing to perform the forced 2022-to-2024 upgrade tonight. I'm obviously not looking forward to losing shipping capability. We ship 50-75 packages per day. This is going to significantly affect our operations.
Why can't Intuit just postpone the forced upgrade until the new one version is ready?
When connecting your UPS account in the new Shipping Manager you need to expand the pop-up window. Doing so will reveal additional functions that allow you to login to your UPS account.
REPOSTING...... I tried to attach a screen captured image, but that doesn't seem to be displaying.

Dang..... I actually had the new Ship Manager set up and working. Its clunky, but it was working. Then I logged out of QB and logged back in, and now it won't work.
I'm getting this response when I try to open it... "You do not have the access to perform this action. To complete this, request for access from your Primary Admin"
The new shipping manager will need to have admin full access to complete the setup process, TimL. I'll provide more details below about the error you've encountered.
Once you logged out and logged back into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), your profile's access to that feature may have been revoked. That said, you'll need to reach out to your Primary Admin so they can restore your access to the Shipping Manager.

Hi TimL,
I still don't see any new "Shipping Manager" even though I am using the very latest 2024 QBDT Premier Plus. How did you get access to it or invoke an update so that you finally see the new shipping manager? It looks like several users have gotten access.
Strangely, the new Shipping Manager does not show up under the <File> menu drop-down. According to the installation instructions that Intuit has been sharing, its supposed to be listed in the menu. I called support last night to ask how I could access it. The support rep logged into my desktop and poked around before giving up and telling me that the Shipping Manager isn't ready yet.
I decided to then set up the FedEx portion of the old shipping module so we would at least be able to use that portion today. When I attempted to open FedEx from <File><Shipping><FedEx Shipping Options><Settings>, the Shipping Manager window popped up and asked if I wanted to use the old Module or the new one.
I had tried that earlier, and again after reading your message. No good. I am wondering if the Premier version will update a little later than the standard desktop version. Amazingly poor launch or implementation by Intuit.
Good afternoon, @X80.
Thanks for reaching back out on this thread.
If you're not able to see the "Shipping Manager" option when using the steps in this guide, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team for further assistance. Here's how:
Keep us updated on how the call goes. I'm only a post away if you need me again. Take care!
Will we still be able to use the old shipping manager after 5/31 if the new one isn't available yet? I'm on QG Enterprise 24.0
If you read any of the previous postings, you would realize we have already tried all your suggestions. Called customer support and get different answers every time. Some say it must not be available, and others say it is available and should be working. Nobody at Intuit as a definitive answer.
We are trying to start using the new Shipping Manager, but it is not available in the menu (File/Shipping Manager...) and when I try via Settings from the old shipping manager, I never get prompted to try or start using the new Shipping Manager. And, yes we have the very latest version. In our case it is QBDT Premier 2024.
X80, Did you run updates after installing 2024? We had to download a crapload of updates and then reboot and log in/out of QB a few times before they all finally installed. Only after doing all of that did the Shipping Manager show up as an option when we tried to use the old ship module.
The new Shipping Manager still has NEVER shown up in the file menu. It seems to only be accessible (as an option) when you try to use the old ship module.
Prior to installing the updates, the new Shipping Manager was not visible anywhere -- even though we had just downloaded the 2024 installation.
QuickBooks is working to bring the new experience soon. Until then, you can keep using the current shipping experience, which stays available until the new feature launches, @LiftedbyClayton.
QuickBooks is continuously providing the new shipping manager access to all QBDT 2024 customers. In the meantime, you'll have to download your shipping-related data to prepare for the transition to the new experience.

I had the same experience with the new system. Our company relies on adding the order to the shipping label, and we also print the details on a doc tab to attach to the hard copies of our orders. I really hope QBDT can update the new experience to include a doc tab feature as well as reference # on the main shipping label.
I am using QBDT Premier Plus (Wholesale and Mfg), not Enterprise.
Will I still be able to use the OLD shipping after 31-May -- specifically if using QBDT Premier Plus - not Enterprise. And, do I have access to the NEW Shipping Manager?
I don't recall how much updating I did after installing/updating to 2024 as it was about 1-year ago if not longer.
I have noted your comment about Shipping Manager never being available from the menus, and have also tried updating from within FedEx and UPS Settings "menus". I will see if Intuit "team" corrects their latest post since it was about Enterprise edition, which I never said I had.
Hey again, @X80.
I appreciate you giving us some additional details and asking more questions.
On May 31st, 2025, your QBDT Premier Plus account will not be able to use the old Shipping Manager. However, you should have/will have access to the new Shipping Manager.
If you don't have access already to the new Shipping Manager, please make sure to contact our Customer Support Team for further assistance.
Feel free to come back and ask any other questions. We're always here to help!
I have already contacted customer service multiple times (and mentioned it in this thread). About half of them say I should access. The other half say I should not. Of those that tell me I should have access, none of them can tell me how to make it start/work.
X80, You REALLY need to download the latest QB updates. We performed our UPGRADE to 2024 last night. Even after that "fresh" download and installation of v2024, the new Shipping Manager was not present. We had to download a large number of updates and reboot the workstations a couple of times before before the new Shipping Manager was accessible. And even after that, it NEVER appeared in the "File" menu. Its only accessible as an option when we try to open the old UPS or FedEx shipping modules.
Go to <Help><Update QuickBooks Desktop...> to download the updates. Then reboot and log into QB a couple of times to get the updates to install.
Excellent. Will try super-deep update again this weekend (maybe more than once). I did so about 5-days ago, but maybe things are getting updated during last 1 to 3 days. I appreciate your persistence and precision in communication.
TimL,
Were you able to connect your UPS account successfully in the new shipping manager?
When trying to add UPS as a carrier, I receive a pop-up to sign into my UPS account which I then proceed to sign in, but I'm still getting the "access denied" error. When I reached out to Intuit, they told me to contact UPS support...LOL Here's a screenshot of the error I received. I'm just trying to figure out if this is somehow our network that is having issues with it or maybe others are experiencing this as well. We've whitelisted all connections to UPS.COM just in case but still no luck...
@James_H, I initially had trouble, but I cannot remember the specific error message.
I eventually figured out that the window that was popping up to allow me to enter my UPS credentials was formatted too small. I dragged a corner of the window to make it larger. Doing so caused additional entry fields to become visible.
This is the exact error I am receiving as well. I had my external IT department confirm it was not because of our firewall/server. I have confirmed that my credentials are correct and can be used at the website listed if you copy the web address into a new browser.
When speaking with QB support I was told this was a known issue that it is being worked on, though I was given no timeline.
