Buy nowDoes anyone know when the new shipping manager will be operational and available for download?
The old shipping manager no longer links to UPS. We are therefore waiting for the new shipping manager to become operational before we upgrade to V2024. But obviously that window is closing quickly as the May 31 force upgrade deadline approaches.
We are using Desktop Enterprise v2022.

We are in the process of updating our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Shipping Manager experience, which will be launching in the near future, Tim. I'll continue discussing this below.
We’re updating QBDT's shipping experience to provide enhanced security, greater convenience, and more choices for managing your shipments, all from within QBDT.
We're also upgrading it to a more user-friendly and secure shipping interface, incorporating OAuth (Open Authentication) to keep your credentials safe while granting limited access to other shipping carriers based on your approval. We aim to make this new experience available to you as soon as possible. Until then, you can continue using the current shipping features until May 31, 2025.
Here are some benefits of the updated feature:
If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or older, you need to upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 to use the new shipping features.
If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2024, you need to update to the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop 2024.
You can download any shipping-related data before May 31, 2025. This includes the shipment date, customer contact details, tracking number, transaction reference, estimated shipping charges, the carrier service you've opted for, and cash on delivery (COD) details, if any.
After May 31, 2025, you won’t be able to access the listed information or use the existing shipping experience within QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can still perform shipping-related tasks, like voiding labels, directly on the carrier's official website.
Here’s how to download your shipping data:
Once you’ve downloaded your shipping data for shipments made before May 31, 2025, set up the new Shipping Manager so you can continue shipping from within QuickBooks.
Moreover, If you're looking for guidance on setting up and managing your inventory to improve cash flow, increase efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and enable better decision-making, I recommend referring to the article: Set up Advanced Inventory in QuickBooks Desktop.

Will the old version of shipping be available in QB Desktop after 31-May?
Based on your response on about 6-May-2025, the New Shipping Manager for Desktop is not yet available. You do realize that Intuit has not sent any notice about the delay even though they have insisted that we will no longer have access to the old shipping manager after 31-May? Intuit has sent paper mail and notifications through email stating the old version will not be available after 31-May.
So, if it won't be available after 31-May, what do we do between that date and the date the new Shipping Manager for Desktop is released?
The old version of the shipping manager in QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be available after May 31, 2025, Agaus.
We are currently updating it to the new Shipping Manager experience. I understand the challenges caused by its availability, but our product development team is still actively working on making the new experience available soon to all users, ensuring a smooth transition.

I did not ask how to update QB as I update every day. If you do not have a date for the new version, will the old version be made unavailable before the new version is available?
Intuit apparently has no idea how frustrating this situation is for their users.

TimL,
I just got off phone with some "advanced" support through sales. If they were correct, it is quite possible that the notice sent out is really trying to say that the old shipping module will become unusable if you are using the 2022 or older version of QBDT as Intuit is migrating to the new Ship Manager based on ShipEngine targeting a 31-May-2025 release date.
After 31-May-2025, you will not be able to use old shipping module/method in the 2022 and older versions of QBDT. But if you are using or have upgraded to any 2024 QBDT version, the old ship module will continue to work after 31-May.
Intuit does plan to release new Ship Manager targeting 31-May, but they seem to be running late. It will become available via the usual update process once it is released. You probably cannot use the old ship module/method in 2024 QBDT once the new Ship Manager is released and installed through the normal update process.
Thanks X80. That's how I also understand the situation.
Unfortunately we are still using v2022. Since upgrading sometimes doesn't go as smoothly as it should, we always wait until Intuit forces us to perform the upgrade. May 31 is Intuit's forced-upgrade date for v2022. Obviously when we upgrade to v2024 (new week) we are going to no longer be able to ship via UPS.
I wish Intuit would postpone the force-upgrade date for v2022 to allow more time for the new shipping module to be completed.

For what it's worth, I think you will be able to ship via 2024 QBDT as the old ship module/method will continue to be available -- just not in 2022 and older.
And, yes, I agree we are forced by Intuit to upgrade every three years. It wasn't until today that I fully understood the New Ship Manager obsolescence was really for 2022 version, and the old shipping module will still work in 2024 (maybe even 2023 version) after 31-May-2025.
I am guessing the new Shipping Manager will never be available to QBDT versions older than 2024.
That would be awesome, but I believe that I would have had to have upgraded earlier.
I believe that the problem presents itself when you try to register your UPS account with the old shipping module (regardless of what version of QB you're running).
We became aware of the issue in March after we replaced two workstations. After installing v2022 on those new workstations, we could not get the shipping modules to connect to our UPS account. We kept getting a "wrong password" message -- even though the setup process does not ask for a password. The process instead uses data from a recent invoice to register the UPS module with our UPS account. Information I've seen on other discussions leads me to believe that this issue occurs (regardless of the QB version) anytime QB is installed or reinstalled onto a workstation.
Apparently my practice of only upgrading when forced has put me in a bad position. But again, a reasonable solution would be for Intuit to postpone the forced-upgrade date until the new module is ready.

We have been using the old ship manager for 24.0 and received this pop-up last week on 5/23 when trying to ship. I updated again today, 5/28, and now the pop-up no longer appears. I'm curious if the deadline has been extended. We did try out the "new" shipping manager, and would have to say it was a very terrible experience.
Right away (for FedEx and USPS) I've noticed there were no options to create multiple boxes per shipment, no reference fields to use for the carrier label (we typically insert PO numbers and SKU numbers), no option for 3rd party billing, and our stamps.com balance did not reflect (when shown "connected" in the settings) when trying to use USPS as a carrier. We also had issues connecting our UPS account to the new shipping manager, which we did not have the opportunity to experience, but I would assume it would yield the same outcome as with FedEx and USPS. I hope they work this all out before cutting us off from the old shipping manager.
We're you forced to enter a credit card when setting up the new ship station/engine?
We don't use USPS and are on terms with UPS/FEDEX and billed separately.
I don't want to put my Credit Card in for this garbage, but I can't proceed with the update without it!
I updated QBD. It's not showing the pop-up window RE: the new ship manager, etc.
I wonder if Intuit bailed on it.
I have not gotten access to any new Ship Manager. I have been using 2024 version of QBDT since it was released. Still uses old Shipping module and does not require any credit card to access UPS and FedEx accounts.
Not sure if you are accessing the new Ship Manager, or if you still only have access to the old Shipping module as I do. I don't think new Ship Manager is yet available in QBDT. If you are using 2022 version of QBDT or older, the Shipping module will no longer work. You would need to update to 2024 QBDT to continue using Ship module (same method/acesss as before, just that Intuit no longer allows shipping from 2022 version -- forcing everyone to updgrade given 2022 is now 3-yrs old).
I have verified by phone that Intuit has not yet released the new Ship Manager and therefore, the old Shipping module (I call it that to separate it from the new Ship Manager) will still work if you have 2024 or newer QBDT.
Intuit claims they are still planning to release new Ship Manager QBDT, but could not provide any indication of when.
LOL... Intuit is such a S-show.
Thanks for making the call X80!!
James, I had not seen your post until today. I don't see any indication of the "new shipping manager" like you show (especially the snapshot of Inuit's popup message about the new shipping manager. So, now I am a bit confused. Maybe you got access for a short while, but now back to old version.
Yes, we unfortunately had to provide a payment method to continue with the setup. Once we got through, there were options in the settings to connect your existing UPS, FedEx, and USPS Stamps.com accounts. Unfortunately, we experienced an issue connecting our UPS account and continued to receive an "access denied" error.
Yes, I think I did have a sneak peek of it LOL. After another update yesterday, it no longer prompts! We will wait and see what happens!
This is the same error we are experiencing. Any update?
We are getting the same error. Any update?
Update QB. The pop-up will go away
Hi Will, I suggest you follow the recommendation from the previous user. Please update your QuickBooks and then set up the new shipping manager again.
If you're using QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or an older version, upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 to access the new shipping features.
For the QuickBooks Desktop 2024 version, refer to this guide: Update to the latest release.
After updating your QuickBooks, download your shipping data and set up the new Shipping Manager.
If the Access Denied error still appears after updating your QuickBooks, I recommend contacting our live support team. Our experts can arrange a screen-sharing session, which we can't do here in the Community space.
