Buy nowBecause the whole point of this forced update was to funnel users through their partner for USPS shipping, not to improve the user experience.
You will have to link stamps.com directly, but then you will always get double quoted USPS rates with no easy way to differentiate between which ones come from the ShipEngine USPS account and which ones come from your stamps.com account.
Just make sure to NEVER fund the ShipEngine USPS account and you'll be able to differentiate which account you're shipping under by checking the "Current Balance:" field (zero for ShipEngine account, >0 for your stamps account).
Ditto @salesQMT - having duplicates of all the USPS options populate is just cumbersome and the best way to distinguish is having just the one account tied to my stamps.com account with a balance. I would much prefer to not have the duplicate rates from the shipengine account appear as well. keeping that balance at zero is the only obvious way to distinguish between the two.
Would still REALLY like to have a reference line to identify package contents/PO# on the shipping label - for both USPS and UPS.
I'm also looking for QB to provide the option of billing shipping to a 3rd party account and allow multi-package shipping to a single customer in this new platform please.
Anybody hear from ANYONE from Intuit on this? There is absolutely NOTHING useful about the new Shipping Manager. If we, as paying customers, need to resort to additional costs for 3rd party shipping systems that don't truly integrate with QB in a useful way, or go out to proprietary systems like UPS Worldship, Stamps.com, and FedEx, we need a discount for the reduced functionality of the core software. This is obscene at this point that they have not responded in this thread. Does anybody find improvements of the new vs old system? Are there plans for them to admint they made a huge development error and pissed off customers?
On the Reference Line. we are REQUIRED for package acceptance to include PO reference for our top customer on the shipping labels. So intuit? Hello?
I have been a QBE customer for the past 15 years. Unfortunately, this has been the same response for every single problem I have ever had. From 'known issues' and beyond, while the cost of the software has increased almost every single quarter. Now, it's taking me double, triple, quadruple the amount of time previously needed to process shipments while being told 'we're adding new features to make it great for you' - I do not share that vision because I know where this will end up. I have been told to open a ticket just to have support tell me I can't open a ticket because it's a known issue. If this were our only issue, I could understand, however, when we updated form QBE21 to 22, a major problem was discovered on how bills are paid. We've had to implement a quickbooks support guided "temporary workaround until it's fixed" that has now been going on for 3 years.
This particular "upgrade" is where I draw the line in the sand. I have begun discussions and negotiations to replace QBE before the first of the year. Every single month, I get "our prices are increasing because of new features" and this is the new feature we get. A cobbled together mess of a software package with no resolution in sight.
I have 0 faith in QB making this right. I have a sizeable account for them - QBE with 30 users. I would rather pay double for a software to work than waste my employees' time with "work arounds" that change monthly. I see the writing on the wall - they'll focus on and release the newer, more expensive version while those who have funded the development get swept under the rug. No thanks.
Same boat. We just signed with Odoo and started implementation.
We use shiprush as a temporary solution
@willtrimble checkout Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, we are evaluating it, may switch to it in future, if QBE getting worse.
I'll contact support.... again. I don't expect to make any progress, but this is the email I just received. If I can't charge to customers account, nor add multiple packages, nor paste tracking info to the invoice, nor use my negotiated UPS rates, nor process a shipment in 3 clicks, is this really and upgrade?? Or is it a cash grab again?
This just furthers my case, as I have tried this AFTER getting this email:
I just discovered that even though I have connected my UPS account through the new shipping platform, it's not calculating my rates accurately - I'm receiving published rates and not my negotiated rates which makes the tool completely inadequate for me if the rates aren't properly tied to my account.
Today June 12 I received a message from QB saying they fixed an issue with the new shipping manager so UPS would work. I tested it and its so stripped down that we can't tell if ShipEngine is adding a fee to use it. I have my UPS account set up and for a 16x13x9 box @ 13 lbs to ship in my state it priced out at over $37 including insurance. There was a $8.50 "fee" added. No settings to look it up. WTF is that?
I logged in our UPS account and we processed the same shipment and it was more that $10 less. We can't be paying almost 40% more to use something that is marketing by Intuit as a benefit to Enterprise Subscriptions. My guess its how QB got ShipEngine to work with them. Commission. At more that $7000 a year to use this broken down program that never gets fixes, this needs to be fixed.
I just discovered another shortcoming of the new Shipping Manager. I'm posting it here because this seems to be the only way that we can provide feedback to Intuit........
I'm currently on hold with UPS attempting to void a UPS shipping label that we created last night via the new Shipping Manager. The label didn't print properly. I didn't realize the error until this morning. Only the shipments that were created TODAY are eligible be reprinted or cancelled.
This manager is absolute garbage. Must have been programed by kids that have never worked in a business that sells anything.
I agree with you about all the crappy releases for many years and they never fix anything. My oldest example is when changing a template type on an invoice / sales order for example; it creates and large white blank spot on the right side of the document taking up around 15% of the total page. So my large monitor for QB is mostly taken up by a single document due to all the white space. I've been reporting this for around 15 years multiple times a year. You guessed it, still happens.
We have so many work arounds to use this software I've forgotten all of them.
I was looking at Acumatica because Netsuite creates too much extra work to do the same thing. I've talked to a number of companies that switched and they all said there are too many steps to do a single function.
Come on QB, as a user for 26 years I've been patient, but the fuse is at the end.
Does anyone know of a more user-friendly forum for exchanging this information? all of the assistance I've received came from other users. It would be nice if we had the ability to communicate directly with each other about this issue. Does anyone know of a Facebook page or some other more open forum that would allow us to help each other?
I was wrong in my earlier post about reprinting or cancelling a shipping label..... I just realized that the Ship Manager window was too small to display to display the right-most column of the page. Stretching the window caused that column to become visible.
As an update, after communicating with somebody, very responsive, from the President’s office, they are committing to escalating the issue, coming up with workarounds, and considering the long term impact of the issue. Fingers crossed. I also pointed out that they have been frustratingly silent in this thread, which undermines customer confidence.
I am pretty sure QB is pushing me to change to another software provider. Between the shipping manager upgrade being a total cluster, and after speaking with our QB account rep and being told that we were being over charged for years, they gave me a refund and locked me in on a new rate for 2 years. Low and behold, this months subscription was increased by $200 / mo more. I feel pretty used and abused at this point. Sorry to vent, but I know many of you here have the same sentiment. This is QB Enterprise, been a customer since QBE 2011.
The business that I work at has the new Shipping Manager and we love it so far but cannot find the "freight collect" or third-party section that we used in the older version of Shipping Manager. We have customers who want to use their UPS account to save on shipping to them. I have had to go back to the old version to utilize this option. Can you please let me know if this option is available now and how do I navigate to that section? Thank you for your time.
Very disappointing to read this thread, as of today, UPs is still working with old ship manager. Does anyone know when that will be cut off? Also, any plans to make the new ship manager functional. Multiple packages third party bill etc....
Seems unconscionable to come out with a new version worse than the old?
We are going with ozlink....hopefully we can get up and running before Ups craps out.
According to others who have posted, there is no option to do third party bill.
Are you able to do multiple packages on the same shipment? That functionality supposedly doesn't exist either?
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, topspinner.
I can certainly understand how an option for shipping dangerous goods/hazmat items could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.
I've also included a detailed resource about shipping items with QuickBooks which may come in handy moving forward: Get Started with the new Shipping Manager
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a great Thursday!
@ZackE , I don't recall anyone complaining about hazmat shipments. The new Ship Manager has numerous faults that are all thoroughly documented and known to Intuit. If Hazmat shipping is on that list of deficiencies, nobody here is yet aware of it.
Maybe I missed something?????
@ZackE, instead of telling us how to report issues that are already known, can you provide us with an update toward the resolution of these issues? I'm not going to hold my breath while awaiting a response -- you guys NEVER respond to that request -- but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask AGAIN.
@topspinner - We also ship multiple packages for one customer and have not been able to do this now. I am referring back to the older shipping manager to do this and will use that for my third-party shipping as well since there is no way to do either right now with this new update. I do like that our UPS and USPS are now connected but we cannot connect our FedEx.
When will the new Shipping Manager read the scale rather than have us enter the weight each time?
