Join nowHas anyone actually received notifications of page updated on community or support pages to which they subscribe? I subscribed to all the release notes pages for QBD. At least one of them changed in the last week, and I've seen no hint of any notification. This just aggravates an already decades-long oversight regarding not notifying users about pending or released R-level updates.
Happy to help, @Anonymousdog. I'm glad to have you here.
I understand the value of receiving emails from our accounting software. That said, I'll make sure you can receive updates from QuickBooks to keep you up to date.
Some email domains may block @intuit.com communications on their servers. That's the possible reason why you didn't receive any announcements. To sort this out, I'd suggest adding approved email addresses for your email provider. This way, you can get notifications about all updates on the pages that you have subscribed to.
Here's how:
For more details, check out this link: Receive important email messages from Intuit.
If you didn't receive any verification code, I'd recommend contacting your email provider to examine the security settings for your profile.
Alternatively, you can manually visit this link to be up-to-date on QuickBooks enhancements and announcements: What's New in QBO.
Furthermore, check out our QuickBooks Help Articles for your future reference. This page contains steps to handle your data, security, company information, and other related matters.
You can always notify me if you have any other QuickBooks questions. I'm a few clicks away to help. Keep safe, Anonymousdog.
I guess I shouldn't presume that you'd know I already checked for blocked email. The subscription feature plain isn't working.
Just triple checked: Nothing to me from intuit.com in a month. Two subscribed pages changed in the last week. Zero email to me from intuit in the last month at our first email service to receive incoming email. There's plenty to other users in the firm about other Intuit stuff (e.g., QBO notifications, etc.), but zero about the changes in the subscribed pages. This defeats the entire purpose of a subscription and takes us right back to having no good way to get notified about R-level QBD updates. Absurd. Do better.
I know how you feel and I can share additional information, Anonymousdog.
Intuit provides updates to QuickBooks Desktop that are accessible over the internet. Currently, there isn't any option to set up a notification email once updates are available. If automatic updates are turned on, the software download and install the update the moment it becomes available.
You'll have the option to turn that feature off. Then, you can check for new updates at least once a month.
Here are the steps to turn off automatic updates:
If you're unable to turn off automatic updates, you can select Unmark All. This prevents the software to update automatically.
For future reference, I've included this article in case you encounter issues with your company file. What to do if you can't open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop. It contains helpful information on fixing it.
Let me know if you have additional questions or concerns. The Community is open 24/7 to back you up.
That's not helpful, and I was in no way at all referring to in-app updates. The whole point is getting notifications PRIOR to all our firm's users being notified in-app. The subscription to release notes pages SHOULD have gotten us that if the subscription notifications actually worked. Please, no more off-topic replies. Just let me know when you get these page subscription notifications ACTUALLY WORKING.
Hi Anonymousdog,
Allow me to step in and provide details about subscribing to articles, especially the release notes.
I want to clarify that Subscribe is an option available in all Community posts and articles. However, you are only notified when someone makes a post or a reply to them, not when they are updated or changed.
I understand that you want to receive notifications about updates. While this isn't a feature at the moment, I'll take note of your feedback. You can also send one from your QuickBooks company file by clicking on Help and choosing Send Feedback Online.
Hope this clears up everything and sets the proper expectation on your end.
If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out. I'm just right here willing to give a hand. Take care and have a good one!
I appreciate your doing that, but it still doesn't solve the problem that Intuit provides no practical way to get notifications of updates. I and my IT peers have been requesting this for literally decades now. Maybe someone at Intuit could, you know, fix that. It's not too much to ask.
No, no it's not.
