I agree - the price increase is disgusting! We are a small business - literally my husband. He uses QB for invoicing, accounts receivable, checking, and reports, as needed. That is it ... nothing else. Our accountant does the quarterly taxes.
We cannot afford to pay $1000/year on this software! What are the options other than QB?

We cannot afford to pay $1000/year on this software! How long will we have access to QB DESKTOP?? Is that going to be disabled?? If so, way to screw your loyal customers.
I recognize that managing expenses is essential for your business, and I empathize with your concerns about the software costs @RM605.Let me collect the necessary information to provide you with a clear overview of the available options.
You can still use your QuickBooks Desktop until May 31, 2025. If you don't upgrade your QBDT 2022 to the new version, you will not have access to live technical support and any other Intuit services that are integrated with Desktop, such as:
It means you can only use the software for manual tracking and to keep your company data. Here's an article you can read for more insights: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.
Additionally, you can refer to this resource, which offers comprehensive details regarding the cancellation policies for QuickBooks Desktop: QuickBooks Desktop cancelation policies.

So, just to confirm, if I don't pay the $999 subscription fee, I can continue to use the product indefinitely? We do not need support. We have not called for support in years.
Good morning, @RM605.
We appreciate you coming back and asking additional information.
If you don't upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop 2022 by May 31, 2025, you won't have access to live technical support if you run into problems or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Discontinued versions won't receive the latest critical security patches and updates.

I hope this helps answer your question. Feel free to reach back out if you have any other concerns. Take care!
Correct. We have QB Pro Plus 2023. We thought we were purchasing a stand alone/desktop version, not a 'subscription' that we had to pay for yearly. We do not use any add-ons.
If you don't need to run any add-ons, you may consider switching to QB Desktop with a non subscription license. You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for the workaround.
@JoanaC - So, just to confirm, if I don't pay the subscription fee, I can continue to use the product indefinitely? We do not need support. We have not called for support in years. I already read about a 'non-licensed' QB product. We use Desktop Pro Plus 2023 currently.
@Chrea - who is @Fiat Lux - ASIA ?
You talk about small business...I am a 2 person business...Quickbook use to be FOR THE SMALL BUSINESS but not any more. I am now paying $1000.00 for 2025 for a basic business. I will be looking into other software for my business. You do not work with smaller business's just with the big companies to make your money and have forgotten about the small. And there ISN'T ANYONE to talk to directly as stated about and if you do talk NO ONE REALLY CARES. I DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE TO NEW VERSION EVERY YEAR BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT WHETHER I NEED IT OR NOT. Sad that Quickbooks is taking ADVANTAGE of us. And there will be NO REPLY for this except for the meaningless blah blah blah. As with other big business taking advantage of the small and over billing the small to wipe us out.

I agree with RM605....I am a small business ( myself and husband). I use basic QB and don't need all the bells and whistles. QB use to be for the small businesses but now they are just trying to faze us out. I have had this business for 20 year. Didn't need to update the software every year. Now you give no choice and make us pay more and more each year. I get pretty much nothing for $1000.00 except the use of QB. I do not need half of it because..small business...Sad that QB now caters to the large companies and have totally forgotten its small business. Sad after 20 years I am in need to find another software that isn't crazy expensive. There is absolutely NO NEED to increase my payment to $1000. You have a basic software but made that so small companies could not use it either to save money. I am So disappointed in QB. ALL QB CARES ABOUT IS THE $ AND NO LONGER CUSTOMER SERVICE

I am in the same boat...This is crazy! And QB doesn't care about us small businesses..They use to now allthey care about is big business and big dollars! I wish I could find another software, but I do like QB.
Just joining in on the venting about these company and Desktop product.
I got the annual subscription notice that in March my 3 person company will be charged $999 for "Quickbooks Plus Annual Subscription Pro" This is so fitting because it truly is an annual increase! This is a $300 increase from last year. It doesn't make sense as there are no new features for me.
I can't wait to read what the Payroll subscription increase will be. I print checks so, the price I currently pay is a rip off.
Sh*tbooks also added a $1.00 increase to the per employee fee without notification! It just starting appearing at the first of the year. It had already increased in October 2024. Amazing business practices from this company!
