I need to change the price of about 650 service items in the list.
In the desktop version we were able to see ALL items in a change pricing view, and make changes that way.
How can I change prices in online version across many items at one screen?
Welcome to the Community, @sales47. I'm here to lend a hand with editing service items.
There are two ways to edit a product/service in QuickBooks Online, and the first is to modify each item manually. You can locate information on this method in the following article: Edit a product or service.
The second option is to edit them by importing an Excel file. Here's how:
Please be aware that an import can't be undone and is a permanent change. Some users also recommend trying a few items first before attempting to alter a significant number of them. For further insight into this process, I recommend the following article: Import products and services from Excel.
As always, I'm just a comment away if you should have questions or need assistance. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Thank you for the quick response.
Have a question though on file type, you state to save the export as a PDF? not an excel file?
Hi again, @sales47.
I meant to put Excel, and have since updated my post with the correct file format. Not sure if it was my brain or computer that was in Friday mode. Sorry about that!
Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can be of additional help. Have a good one.
I have read your post on export & import to change pricing. If instead of exporting, I just did a new import with ONLY the item code and the new price and chose to overwrite - would that work ? Basically my question is, if I leave all other colums blank will that remove the exisiting data or leave it as is.
Thanks
Hello @NicoleZimbo,
You can import your products and services with the Item code and Price column chosen to overwrite as long as the item type and account is not blank. This way, QuickBooks can still recognize the list of items you're about to import and update the existing information.
Once completed, the existing information of your products ans services from those blank columns will not change. Here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can import the list of your items: Import products and services from Excel.
I've got you this helpful article in case you need some ideas about how you can the type of your products and services: How do I?
Please let me know how it goes in the comment section below, @NicoleZimbo. I'm only a post away if you have any follow-up questions.
