PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

WHEN SELECTING REPORTS, PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER, THEN ADD FILTER BY MORE THAN 1 CUSTOMER OR SUB-CUSTOMER THE INCOME WILL SHOW AS $0.00.

THE NEW INTUIT ADVANCED PRIORITY TECHNICAL SUPPORT HOTLINE [removed] IS THE SAME OLD TERRIBLE-AWFULL TECHNICAL SUPPORT THAT INTUIT ALWAYS HAD, THE ALMOST $2000/YEAR THESE PEOPLE STEAL FOR THE QUICKBOOKS ONLINE "ADVANCED" SUBSCRIPTION IS ALL B.S.  ALL THE HIPE TO KEEP THEIR STOCK PRICES HIGH... DOES NOTHING FOR THE CUSTOMER BASE.

ANYONE HERE HAS ANY CLUE OF WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THESE REPORTS?

I AM PAYING THESE PEOPLE $150 PER MONTH FOR WHAT?

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

Thanks for getting back to us in the Community, @Upset User.

I tried this on my test account and I was able to see the amount when I added the sub-customer (project) in the profit and loss by customer report in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced version.

Here are some sample screenshots.

So that I'm on the same page, can you please send us a screenshot of the report? This will help me make sure that I can provide the best resolution for your concern.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

@KarenEdithL

The reason you are not seeing the problem is because you are selecting CUSTOMERS and SUB-CUSTOMERS. Create the same report by ONLY SELECTING CUSTOMERS, DO NOT select the SUB-CUSTOMERS and you will see QB will NO LONGER SHOW INCOME in the report, will just display income $0.00, and the expenses.

I have dozens of sub-customers for every customer, I do not want sub-customers shown in the report.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

Hello there, Upset User,

I have tried this on my end. I have customized the report to only show the Parent customer.

When the parent customer doesn't have transactions while the sub-customers have, the income or expenses will only show on the sub-customer column. Activities within the sub-customer will not appear on the parent column.

For now, you can export the report, and summarize the income and expenses manually. Here's how:

  1. On the Reports window, click the export button just beside the printer icon.
  2. Select Export to Excel, PDF, or Google Sheets.

Once exported, you can summarize the total income and expenses from the sub-customers data.

I will send feedback about this to our product developers. We want to make sure we're able to provide the service fit for our customer's needs.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

@MaryLurleenM @KarenEdithL

Thank you for the suggestion, but when INTUIT is STEALING from me $2,000 US DOLLARS each year, I do not want to find works around their bad product !!! Unless the CROOKED INTUIT TEAM will credit me money for my time and the inability to use their "ADVANCED" $150 x month crap of product, which it will never happen because INTUIT is VERY GREEDY. Their only concern is to impress their investors and keep their stock prices high by inventing new streams of income like they did with their "ADVANCED" subscription.

I really hope someone at crooked INTUIT can fix this problem in this faulty product immediately. I have reported this problem 6 months ago and it is still not fixed.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

Hey there, Upset User.

At this time, the product is operating as designed to only show activity for the sub-customer if the parent-customer doesn't contain any data.

Your feedback doesn't go unheard, and since you have submitted your suggestions, this information has been relayed to our Product Development Team for review. You can find out more about ways we're working to incorporate user suggestions like yours in the product by checking out our blog.

Please feel free to comment below if you have any other questions. Take care.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

@MorganB @MaryLurleenM @KarenEdithL

Hello Morgab B, "content leader":

Your statement that "At this time, the product is operating as designed to only show activity for the sub-customer if the parent-customer doesn't contain any data." is WRONG by design.

Let me rephrase your statement, this is what you should have written: "At this time, this INTUIT product is NOT operating correctly as WE DID NOT design this "ADVANCED" subscription of $2,000 per year to show the correct Profit and Loss By Customer activity for any of the customers selected under the report's FILTER option."

You are the "Content Leader", please answer this question for me:

How do I show Profit and Loss by Customer?

That is ANY Customer selected by the Report's Customer FILTER option?

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

Thanks for getting back to me, Upset User.

I'd be glad to walk you through the steps to run a Profit and Loss by Customer Report:

1. Click the Reports tab in the left navigation bar.

2. Enter Profit and Loss in the search bar.

3. Choose your date range.

4. Select the Display columns by menu.

5. Click Customers.

6. Choose Run report.

To view specific customer data in this report, you can select them from the Customer filter, within the customization settings:

1. Select Customize in the top right corner.

2. Choose the Filter drop-down.

3. Check the box for the desired customer(s).

4. Click Run report.

After completing these steps, you'll be able to view a breakdown of Profit and Loss by each customer, column by column. I'll be around if you have any follow-up questions.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

@MorganB

I followed your instructions, step by step, as soon as I select the Customers I need and click Run report, I get the exact same incorrect information with $0.00 Total Income as I did in my prior explanations.

Here is the issue and why this report is not working properly by design:

When only one Customer (not sub-customer) is selected, the P&L adds columns for each sub-customer (why is it adding these columns?) and a TOTAL CUSTOMER column with the combined totals of all sub-customers (This is the column I am looking for in a P&L report by Customer). When a second Customer (not sub-customer) is selected, the report no longer works, it will no longer show the TOTAL CUSTOMER column or any Income.

The P&L By Customer report provided under reports should include an option to allow to FILTER by Customer (not-sub customer) and the TOTAL CUSTOMER should be for all totals, including their sub-customers. The way it is now, it is a mess.

So here is my question again:

How do I create a P&L Report By Customer?

I only want to select CUSTOMERS, not sub-customers, and I need the report to show the TOTAL CUSTOMER for each customer & sub-customer.

Thank you for trying that and letting me know the results.

Currently, this is the only customization available for the Profit and Loss Report by Customers. In addition to your feedback submission, I'll do my part and pass your feedback along as well.

If you need assistance with anything else please let me know.

PROFIT AND LOSS BY CUSTOMER - DOES NOT WORK !!!

@MorganB

This is TERRIBLE, for the over $2000 I pay crooked intuit I should be able to get such basic report.

I hope intuit focuses on fixing all the problems with Quickbooks online before they invent even more subscription plans to steal more from us users.

Evey time I say anything about Intuit bad technical support or I mention the software problems intuit is not fixing, I get banned. Is anyone else getting ripped off of free speech? Intuit seems to be practicing some of what we had in the Soviet Union. See attached
