Join nowI have qb 2013 and I want to get with the program and buy the 2020 version. My question is, if I buy the 2020 pro version can I import my 2013 files. It appears intuit wants me to pay $500 for an upgrade.
Last week our client has upgraded QB from 2013 to 2020 without any issue. Open your file on trial license of Pro 2020 prior to purchase it.
What did you mean Intuit wants you to pay $500?
When I go to upgrade in the 2013 it only gives me he option of online or for the desktop premiere 2020 at $499.95
Which edition do you have? QB 2013 Pro for 1 user, or QB 2013 Premier for 1 user?
qb premier contractors edition 2013
As I mentioned earlier, open your data file on trial license Pro 2020
If the upgrade has no issue, you may purchase the license of Premier 2020 with a lower price (i.e < $400) to partner later.
Thank you for your help
Here is what I found out. If I go to 2020 I would have to go to the premier version or plus version in order to not lose my level pricing feature. To do this I need to download a trial version of 2016 and migrate my files into that and then migrate the files over to the 2020.
If I didn't want the pricing levels then I could go to the 2020 pro
You have to upgrade to 2016, if you couldn't jump directly to 2020. It is why you should open your data file on trial license of Pro 2020 as I mentioned earlier. Once you can open it on Pro 2020, you may purchase the license of Premier 2020 and open your 2013 data file again on it.
Pro/Premier Plus is a subscription license. You may get the discounted price for 1st year but you have to pay in full price later.
