I use QB desktop Premier Plus Contractor Edition 2024
Intuit charged my Credit card $949.00 for their Annual Renewal on May 12, 2024. I have changed My whole
stance on the "Automatic renewal" thing where a company is hooked up with the ability to charge your card without them or the bank notifying you BEFOREHAND. I REALIZE I HAD TO GIVE INITIAL PERMISSION, I'M NOT STUPID. BUT WITH QUICKBOOKS/INTUIT I, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS WAS BASICALLY GIVEN AN ULTIMATUM. CREDIT CARD ON FILE AND ANNUAL RENEWAL OR NO QUICKBOOKS.
I just read an answer from a Quickbooks Team person, here it is:
"Let me share some insights about managing your QuickBooks Desktop subscription.
The auto-renewal feature is built to let you focus on your business without disruption while using QuickBooks Desktop.
You may also choose to purchase a new QuickBooks license at a retail store. However, you'll need to make sure to activate the license and back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file. "
The Auto Renewal Feature is "built in to let you focus on your business without disruption while using QuickBooks Desktop. "? Are you kidding me? Does QB actually think that it's users are so stupid and gullible to believe such a condescending, blatant lie??? That is an insult to my intelligence and I'm done.
Let me up, I've had enough. Here's why...
I don't check my Credit Card balance with my bank every day because this particular Card is one I rarely use
and i'm literally too busy with work to entertain paranoia. You can call it diligent, responsible, whatever. I call it paranoia. So My credit card was charged $949.00 renewal fee and I didn't know it had been and the minimum pmt date came and went and my bank charges me $25.00 late fee. First time I've been late paying any bill in 30 years. And it will probably hit my credit score.
I went to my Intuit Acct and tried to delete that card and I get the message "DENIED" AND SOMETHING ABOUT i WOULD LOSE MY SUBSCIPTION.
So that's it? Been a loyal customer of Intuit's for years and they think that forcing me to allow them to access to my credit card is the way to keep me coming back? lol Not this kid. I'm out.
Hey intuit.... I got free email and a scanner and pen and paper. You just saved me approx $1000.00 ++ a year!! Thank you for showing me your BEST BUSINESS PRACTICES.
