Join nowHello,
Recently the company I work for has started implementing the barcode scanning solution built-in with QB Enterprises through Advanced Inventory. Day-to-Day operations have been streamlined and have become far more efficient compared to older practices, especially for our warehouse.
However, during the night while our IT department performs the verification and rebuild procedure to backup our file, many errors are thrown. Our IT suspects this may be the result of many items in our file not having a value in the QB barcode field.
Some items have no barcode due to QB not allowing duplicates, others like price level discounts or even "subtotal" which seems odd to assign a barcode to.
How much truth is there in our IT's recommendation? Should I go about assigning a pseudo-barcode value to all items without one and just see how that goes?
Thanks!
Hi there, @jgarcia2022.
Can you share with me the exact error message your IT has received?
Data Damage means your company file can't be read correctly by QuickBooks. This can be caused by internal (within QuickBooks) or external (file location) factors.
With regards to your IT recommendations, you can have them check our list of data damage errors. This includes corresponding data damage type and transactions or modules affected: Top data damage errors in QuickBooks Desktop.
Moreover, most of data damage issues including LVL errors in the QBWin.log can be repaired within QuickBooks.
Let me know if you need further assistance with this. I'm always around to provide answers and clarifications to your questions. Have a great day ahead and take care.
