QB Enterprise 21 freezes when i click on Send forms under Preferences

After latest update of QB2021, my QB freezes when i click into Send forms under preferences. This only happens on the server that doesn't host the QB File.  It works fine on the QB that hosts the file. I tried to repair the QB software but still got same issue after I repaired it.  What do you think is the issue? It doesn't freeze when i click on the other tabs in preferences.

QB Enterprise 21 freezes when i click on Send forms under Preferences

Thanks for sharing the things you've done so far, TheArk,

I'll provide additional troubleshooting steps to resolve the freezing problem when clicking on Send forms.

Before we start, I've listed some possible causes of why QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise freezes:

  • The company file name is too long.
  • Damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
  • There’s corruption on your hard drive.
  • The program files or QBDT installation may be damaged.
  • Damaged Windows operating system.

To resolve this, I recommend running the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will fix common issues in the program. Here's how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open the downloaded file. (QuickBooksToolHub.exe)
  4. Perform the steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Once done, double-click the icon to open the tool hub.

From the Tool Hub, run the Quick Fix my Program. This will shut down any open background processes QuickBooks uses and runs a quick repair:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools that can pull up your account and check its cause. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps to fix this.

QB Enterprise 21 freezes when i click on Send forms under Preferences

I tried quick fix and still same issue.  It's weird. It actually doesn't freeze but takes 10min to load the Send form page.  Keep in mind the solution you provided fixes the file but the issue i'm having is only on the workstation computer quickbooks.  I don't see the issue with the Server that hosts the QB file.

Hello, TheArk.

I appreciate the steps you've done to get this working. Let's do a couple of solutions to help us fix the freezing problem.

My colleague above shared possible reasons why your QuickBooks is freezing, and you have five solutions that can help you fix the issue. You can use the QuickBooks Refresher Tool to perform a mini repair on your QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. Close all QuickBooks Desktop versions.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Refresher Tools.
  3. Save the file on your desktop.
  4. Run the QBRefresher Tool.
  5. Re-open QuickBooks Desktop.

If you still experience the issue, let's proceed to the next solution. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool.
  2. Save the file to the local Desktop.
  3. Close any programs and run the QBInstall Tool.
  4. Restart your computer after running the tool to ensure the components are properly updated.

If the issue persists, you may need to Run the Clean Install Tool or Create a new Windows Admin User. You can read this article for other solutions: Solutions for when QuickBooks Stops Working

If the same thing happens, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Customer Support. This way, they can access your account in a secure environment and help with freezing issue.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar (you can still do this without opening a company file).
  3. Press QuickBooks Desktop Help or press the F1 key.
  4. Tap Contact Us
