I'll lend a hand to ensure you'll be able to delete the invoice, @PhantomGirl.
Making sure that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac is updated to the latest release will allow you to have the latest components and fixes. This is also necessary to prevent errors when deleting transactions such as an invoice. Here's how:
- Click the QuickBooks dropdown and select Check for QuickBooks Updates.
- If you see that a newer version is available click Install Update.
- Then, when prompted, select Install and Relaunch.
- Once finished, QuickBooks for Mac automatically opens.
You can also do a manual update by uninstalling reinstalling the latest version. When the update completes, go back to the invoice page and attempt to delete it again.
However, if the same issue persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Technical support team to check what's preventing you to delete the invoice. They can also provide another way how you can achieve your goal.
I've also got you a helpful article that you can use along the way. This provides you with detailed instructions on how you can add the total balance of your customer to their invoice: Add your customer’s total balance to an invoice.
Please keep in touch with me here so I can make sure you're taken care of. Thanks for dropping by, I'll keep an eye out for your reply. Have a good one.
