There are times that your password won't be recognized with the QuickBooks Mac due to some reasons. To fix this, I recommend resetting your password to make sure you're able to log in to the right company file.
If you’re the administrator of your company file, here’s how to reset your password:
- From the Password field, choose the lock icon. Then, you’ll see a pop-up menu listing recovery email addresses.
- Choose an email address you have access to. Then, click OK.
- You’ll get an email from QuickBooks that will guide you through creating a new admin password.
If you're a non-admin user, please follow the steps below.
- Sign in to the company file as the admin.
- From the Company menu, choose Users and Passwords.
- Select the user you want to change the password to and select Edit.
- Choose the lock icon. Then, enter the new password.
- Select Save.
