I am in the process of finding this out .  I can't find the training or the exam.  I always do this in March and now I am on a chat trying to figure out what is going on.

Good morning, @Kimpelb

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'd be glad to provide info with the ProAdvisor certification course.

The frequency of updates varies depending on the exam. When we update the QuickBooks Online certification course, the new version immediately replaces the old one. Any partial progress you made on the older version is lost when the new one is released.

If you're in the middle of a certification exam and a new version is planned to release soon, we'll let you know ahead of time via email.

For additional information about the ProAdvisor certification, please refer back to this article: ProAdvisor certification information

Let me know if the steps above do the trick. If you have any more questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to comment below. Have a good one!

I just got an answer.  Apparently they have changed the date of the availability of the 2020 QBO recertification exam.  I have not received any emails or notifications about this change.  Wish they would keep us in the loop.  Here is what was in the email:

This year, our recertification exam will open on April 20th, which is the first Monday after tax season. The exam will be available through June 30th. You can check on your Training tab on that days and a recertification for 2020 will appear.

Hope this helps.

I believe that the closing window has been pushed back to August 31st, 2020, given the later opening date of April 20th, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

I see a message about the recertification exam but it's not a link to the exam. How do I get to the exam?

Good evening, @pmallows.

Allow me to provide some more information about accessing the re-certification exam for the Pro advisor 2020 training.

The ProAdvisor Training tab contains a list of the available training modules. You can access them by following these steps:

  1. In the left menu, under Your Practice, choose ProAdvisor.
  2. Select the Training tab and click Resume to continue any previously-started courses.
  3. Review the description of the available courses listed and pick one of the available Training Options to display training cards for each module in the class.
  4. Press Get started to begin a course and follow the prompts to complete it.
  5. When you are ready to complete the certification exam, hit Take Exam.

If the new courses don't appear, you'll want to contact our Intuit Accountant Support team. They have the tools to obtain the training modules you need.

I'm only a few clicks away if you have any other questions. Best wishes.

I always seen this, "If certified prior to November 1, 2019, you will need to recertify on What’s New in QuickBooks Online by August 31, 2020" and I dont know what do. Browsing this page, it just simply means to take one of any addtional new trainings  listed available in the QBOA Pro Advisor Training section, get started, study, trained and pass. That's it.

Good morning,

I'm still a bit confused on this - I've completed all the courses already for the basic certification and there aren't any indications of which I need to do to "recertify". I don't want to assume that I have to do the entire process again, so I wanted to double check since the only notification about it says "If you don't get recertified before then, you'll need to retake the full exam to maintain your QuickBooks Online certification status."

Thank you!

I appreciate you for telling us your confusion about the completion of the courses, @Kvictoria_6.

When taking the ProAdvisor Certification examination, you'll need to take all parts of the exam. Once you started, you must finish it in one sitting. You cannot stop and resume at a later time.

You can check the Team menu to see your active certifications. This shows your entire list and whether they're still valid. The status will be Inactive if one of them needs to renew. You can follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online Accountant.
  2. Go to the Team menu.
  3. Select the Training tab.

I also recommend reaching out to our ProAdvisor Support for verification. They can give you some advice about this matter.
