Buy nowI've been troubleshooting bad formatting in the email QuickBooks sends when emailing an invoice. In Outlook the tables in the email are all outlined with red. It generally looks OK, but everything it outlined with red lines and looks unprofessional. If you view the same message in Outlook online, it looks fine.
So I finally dug into the HTML code and realized around line 12 it refers to the td style and #fab color, which happens to be red. I think that is a malformed color or style, though. See attached for an example.
Can anyone else confirm that your emails from QuickBooks Desktop are formatted with red tables?
Hello there, bhgordo.
I appreciate your time in doing the steps to fix the unexpected behavior when emailing an invoice. I know how important it is to have a professional-looking invoice, and I'll share some insights on how we can do this in QuickBooks.
Please know that you can create custom templates for forms in QuickBooks to control how they look and what information to include. The tables in the email are formatted in black by default. It is possible that the invoice template is personalized with a certain color and that the reasons tables in the email are all outlined in red.
I recommend customizing the form templates in QBDT and choosing a suitable color, such as black, as the color scheme. This way, you'll create more attractive email transactions.
Here's how:

I appreciate the reply. The issue is not with the invoice format. It is with the email message that goes with it.

Thank you for your reply. I verified and rebuilt data. There was an issue with some settings on memorized reports.
Still no change on the email format. I included a screenshot of the HTML code in the message that is malformed if that helps. How can we report that to development?
I appreciate you updating us on the progress of the troubleshooting steps and sharing a screenshot, bhgordo. I'm here to help ensure your issue with the invoice email formatting is reported to the right support channel.

We just signed up for Payments on Quickbooks Enterprise and are having the same issue. When an invoice is sent to a user and opened in Outlook it looks terrible with red table borders. We tested opening in Gmail and yahoo mail and it looks fine.
Intuit support: This is not a function of modifying the invoice template in Quickbooks. When Quickbooks Payments adds the payment portion HTML to the template it looks very bad. Very unprofessional to send to a customer.
Can someone at Intuit please fix this?
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for your dedication to providing your customers with professionally formatted invoices, Ssur. In QuickBooks Desktop, it's possible to customize your invoices and modify their properties to ensure they are sent in your preferred format. However, as you have pointed out, the issue seems to arise on the Outlook side, rather than with customizing the invoice template, since it appears correctly on Gmail and Yahoo. To address this, I recommend contacting MS Outlook support for a deeper investigation.
If the issue is confirmed not on the Outlook side, I suggest reaching out to our Live Support Team for additional assistance. They have the tools required to navigate through your account during a share-screening session and can review your case in more detail. Here's how you can contact them in your QBDT:
