Sorry, Carl but the sales team says everything is completely subscription based as per Antony. Any idea as to why your response says different?

Question. I have a Quickbooks Desktop 2021 that I use and I am very happy with it. I do not want to buy a Desktop 2024 Subscription and migrate to it. Can I buy the 2024 Desktop Subscription at $ 649.00 a year by tomorrow September 30 but NEVER INSTALL IT ?? Just keep it on my Computer and INSTALL later on ( say in 6 months if I decide to do this ?? ) Basically can I renew every year for $ 650.00 but never install ?? This way I still have a Quickbooks 2021 Nion subscription Program and can migrate to the Subscription Desktop model, in case something goes wrong with my Program ??
Question. I have a QuickBooks Desktop 2021 Non subscription Program. I am happy with it. I do not want to migrate to Quickbooks Online or Desktop Subscription. Question is following: Can I buy a Desktop 2024 Subscription for $ 649.00 but never activate it ?? Just keep it for a rainy day and continue using what I have ?? This way, in case something goes wrong with my Quickbooks 2021 standalone, I can migrate to Quickbooks 2024 Desktop Subscription ??

I have QuickBooks Pro 2019 Desktop version. Even if I purchase the 2021 version, none will work with Windows 11. I've been using Quickbooks for over 20 years. I was very dissatisfied when Intuit went to strictly the online version.
Kurt M thank you for your reply. I will most likely purchase tomorrow the QB Desktop 2024. I will download it but will not install it until and if needed. In the meantime, I do back up my Company files in QBDT21 manually every day on a USB stick and every time I do, I write over the previous day's file. This way I only have the most current back up. Is this the correct way to do it ?? Also, you are saying that when and if I am ready to install these company files on QBDT24 , that I need to move them to a Desktop and then migrate from there into QBDT24. Correct ??
Also, I do have an Intuit Account and I see that my QBDT21 is registered under my company name with a Key, etc. So, if down the road I need to download my registered Quickbooks Pro 2021 Desktop in order to re install I can still do so, correct ??
I appreciate your reply, @Detigi98.

Since you stated that "Moreover, you can still download the registered QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop for re-installation," is it still possible to get QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop for Mac?
You don't need to purchase a new license of QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus. You can still purchase a new license of QB Desktop Accountant Plus (or even Enterprise) after Sep 30 if required.
QuickBooks Pro 2021 Desktop for Mac is no longer supported for sale, Pedodd.
At this time, QuickBooks Mac 2021 is being discontinued, and as a result, we are no longer offering licenses for its purchase. However, you can still obtain QuickBooks Pro 2021 for Mac by reaching out to an authorized retailer. I recommend finding an authorized retailer where you can purchase a license for the appropriate version of QuickBooks that suits your needs.

Some of my clients are still running QBD 2009 or later on Win 11 Home with minor issues. What error messages did you encounter?
You will hardly find an unregistered QBD 2021 Mac license in the market. However, you can use the trial version of QBD 2021 as a workaround.
I haven't upgraded to Windows 11 because of the information I have been getting from the forums and the Quickbooks help desk. The help desk has told me that my version is not compatible with Windows 11. That's why I am looking for alternatives that do work with Windows 11 and are stand alone desktop versions. I simply think it was a bottom line decision by Quickbooks to take the action they did without concern for their clients needs. I'm sure some of their clients are happy and can afford to go the route they had no choice in. I'm also sure their are many more who have a different sentiment.
One more question. If we buy QBDT2024 Desktop Subscription for $ 649.00 a year, it is my understanding that we can still renew at $ 649.00 a year at least till 2027 ?? Is this correct ?? Finally, after 2027 will Quickbooks migrate us to the ONLINE VERSION ONLY , or will we still be able to renew the Desktop Subscription ??
One more question. If we buy QBDT2024 Desktop Subscription for $ 649.00 a year, it is my understanding that we can still renew at $ 649.00 a year at least till 2027 ?? Is this correct ??
No, it's not correct. They have announced the renewal license will be $999.
Finally, after 2027 will Quickbooks migrate us to the ONLINE VERSION ONLY , or will we still be able to renew the Desktop Subscription ??
We don't know yet whether or not they will discontinue QB Desktop completely in 2027.
I am glad to share some information about the QuickBooks Desktop 2024 subscription, @Detigi98.
QuickBooks Desktop 2024 is subscription-based. That said, you need to renew your subscription to continue using it. If you decide not to renew the subscription, you will have a view-only mode for a year.
For the subscription until 2027, yes, you can still renew. However, the price depends on if there are upcoming enhancements and changes from the developers.
After 2027, QuickBooks may migrate your data to QuickBooks Online, or you can do it manually. Another option is to upgrade to QuickBooks Enterprise.
