To start fresh in QuickBooks Online while keeping your old data, you have two recommended options, @Ccustomcycles. Let me provide you with valuable insights to help you begin from scratch.
For new customers or accounts less than 90 days old, you can purge your data and start over. For accounts older than 90 days, you'll need to create a new company.
Before getting started, please take note of the following:
- Ensure that you are logged in as an admin.
- This process will only delete data for one specific company.
- Any data imported from QuickBooks Time will also be removed during this procedure.
- If you want to reuse your existing lists after starting anew, please refer to our guide on transferring your lists to a new company.
- If you are using QuickBooks Online Accountant, please do not follow these steps. Instead, import a blank QuickBooks Desktop file to begin the process of starting over.
To keep specific data, you'll need to manually transfer it. We recommend exporting your data first.
Here's how:
- Move the Gear icon and select Export data.
- On the Reports tab, set the date range.
- Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the switch on or off.
- Select Export to Excel.
