Quickbooks Online is SLOW

Quickbooks Online has been slow for our company since Friday 10/7. Does anyone know the reason?

Quickbooks Online is SLOW

Good morning, @kmartini1

It sounds like you may have some issues with the cache in your browser. Web browsers collect cache to save time when loading repetitive data and images. Over time these files become outdated and corrupted, causing issues like a website running slowly. I've included the links for all supported browsers that contain the steps to clear the cache below.

After clearing the cache, make sure to restart your browser so the changes can take effect.

That should do it. Let me know if you still have any latency issues with QuickBooks Online. Take care, and have a good one!

Quickbooks Online is SLOW

I just cleared my cache and restarted the browser and am still having lagging issues. So are other employees here. It seems like a Quickbooks Online issue. I don't have trouble with any other sites.

I appreciate your prompt reply, @kmartini1.

We take QuickBooks' performance seriously. No worries, let's take a look at several reasons that can reduce the performance and help you improve it.

QuickBooks Online is a web-based service that relies on your computer or device’s processing power, the amount of available memory (RAM), and the bandwidth of your Internet connection to perform as intended. Any shortfall in that area can reduce performance.

To improve its performance, you'll want to use Google Chrome. It's the recommended browser for QuickBooks to get the best experience possible. If you're using Chrome and still experiencing slow performance, you'll want to ensure your Google Chrome is at the latest release. To do so, you can go to the browser settings and select Help, then About Google Chrome.

If you get the same result, I suggest checking your internet speed (bandwidth) to ensure it isn't limiting your QuickBooks performance. To verify, run a Google Speed Test to confirm your bandwidth/the speed of your connection.

I'm adding this article for more information: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?

As always, you can visit our QuickBooks Community help website if you need tips and related articles in the future.

Keep in touch if you need more assistance with this, or if there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back.

This is still an issue. We all use Google Chrome here and our internet speed is good. We don't have an issue with any other sites but Quickbooks. It's mainly when creating an invoice. This is an issue on Quickbooks Online's part. Please let me know what the issue is.

Quickbooks Online is SLOW

Thanks for getting back with the Community, kmartini1. I appreciate you performing Tori B and Mark_R's recommended troubleshooting steps.

I've reviewed our ongoing/solved investigations and can confirm there's one about QuickBooks running slow which has been closed as of October 4th, 2022. This problem was marked as solved by Intuit's Product Investigations team. With that said, I'd like to guide you through some additional troubleshooting with your browser and device to help rule things out.

Since your books are still running slow, I'd recommend initially checking the browser's compatibility with QuickBooks by using our browser health checkup tool. Intuit supports the current and two previous versions of supported browsers. If you find that you're using an unsupported version, make sure to update it to its latest release. Steps for doing so can be found on the particular company's website.

In the event you've found no problems that could be causing this with your browser, try using a different device and/or internet connection. If it continues happening on other devices and internet connections, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team and provide them with the closed investigation's case number (INV-77933). They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and see if the investigation needs to be reopened, or if perhaps a new investigation case needs to be created.

They can be reached while you're signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Help (?) icon.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.
  4. Select Start messaging or Get a call.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

I've also included a detailed resource about system requirements for QuickBooks which may come in handy moving forward: System requirements

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a lovely day!
