Quickbooks Online Reconciliation Page Inefficient use of viewing and working space

Working in both:

Quickbooks Online Account and

Quickbooks Online Account Desktop APP 1.6.0

I find using the reconciliation page very inefficient for both viewing and working.

First: personally I do not need the upper half of the screen in 24 Font showing me the balances taking up nearly 1/3 of the page! Then there are all the other titles that are simply too large taking up way too much space taking away space for more important things such as "GETTING THE WORK DONE!"

Second: There is a glitch on the Desktop APP where there is a notification box telling us the following:

Why aren't some of these transactions marked as cleared?

followed by an inch of space.

There is an "X" in the box but when you try and click on it, nothing happens, so you are now stuck with yet another Inch or so of lost space.  Basically in the APP you get top only see 6 lines of data and online 8.5 lines if you don't want to hold a magnifying glass to the monitor or approximately 11 lines, for both, if you do care to hold one up to it by zooming out on the App or going to 90% on the browser.  For those fortunate to have a 55" monitor this may not be an issue but when working on a 17" monitor it's an issue.

Bottom line, there should be an option to simply hide all the stuff we do not need to see while we're working.  We do not need to see if we hit ZERO every second of a click!  If we do, then we'll turn it on, but please leave it up to us, or at least let us control the font so we can make it smaller.

Thank you for listening and for your help.

Thank you for reaching us here in the Community.

We can adjust the settings in your computer to reduce the font and screen size when accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) Account. Here's how:

  1. Click the menu icon (the three-dotted line in the upper right).
  2. Select the Settings option and go to the Appearance section.
  3. Click the Font size dropdown and choose Small.
  4. Choose the Page zoom dropdown and pick a number lesser than 100%.
  5. Once done, refresh the page. You can open your QBO account and see if it meets your preference. Please note that this will work on any page you open on your computer, not just QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks Online for Windows and Mac desktop apps it's no longer supported as of April 20, 2021. We can still use the app, but you won't be able to get software upgrades or bug fixes, such as fixing the screen display that you have.

However, you can continue using our QuickBooks by logging into your account through a web browser. Also, make sure your operating system meets the minimum requirements to ensure you can use the program for running QBO.

Otherwise, you can change the DPI settings from your QBO Desktop app settings.

Lastly, an option to hide those reminders is unavailable. We send this suggestion to our Product Development Team so they can review and add it for future product enhancement. Here's how to send feedback:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4.  Click Next to submit.

For future reference, you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.

If you have any further concerns about QuickBooks-related concerns, don't hesitate to post them here. Stay safe!

Quickbooks Online Reconciliation Page Inefficient use of viewing and working space

I do want to thank you for that extensive procedure on how to change the screen resolution.  However, I sort of hinted at that already and didn't want to bore everyone with the obvious.

To drive the point home, however, I am attaching a pic to ensure you understand what this old timer (over 55) goes through to see the screen when I change the resolution as per your recommendation.

All I am asking is that the upper half of the screen go away by choice of the user.  I know it can be done. Heck, I requested that y'all change the Vendor notes so that we can work inside the box similar to that of the customer box.  It took nearly 3 years of complaining but hey, y'all eventually did it. So maybe, just maybe, when I'm 75, I'll see this change instituted..

Please see attached and thanks again.

Oh and BTW, I'm not looking for any procedures that will take more than 3 minutes to implement.  Either you have something or you don't, that's all. All I ask is that it gets on a list of possibilities of getting done...

Thanks again.
