QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 Pro on Windows 10

No solid references but I'm not sure QBD POS 13.0 supports Win 10. You should purchase new licenses for your machines running on Win 10. You can also purchase the license from partners to get discounts.

For customers on QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 and earlier, it is recommended that you upgrade to QuickBooks Point of Sale Desktop 12.0 if your preferred operating system is Windows 10.

Thanks for the speedy reply, yeah I think if the use cases isn't documented anywhere easily accessible - it's probably a dead end. New license is probably only way to go seems like.

They don't offer any training service. Consider purchasing training sessions locally from a partner.

If you already installed Point of Sale and need to change its installation type (such as from server to workstation), you'll need to uninstall it, then reinstall the program.

Here's how:

1. Uninstall Point of Sale if necessary and confirm your computer meets our system requirements for the version you're looking to use (18.0 or 19.0). This way, you'll be less likely to run into any compatibility issues.
2. Visit the Downloads & Updates page to download a copy.
3. Open your installation file and choose Yes to All if you receive a prompt to overwrite existing extracted files, then click Next on the wizard to start your installation.
4. Read its License Agreement. If you agree, hit I accept the terms in the license agreement, then press Next.
5. Enter your license and product number, click Next, then choose the appropriate type of installation. Only this computer is for single user mode, while Two or more computers is for multiple users.
6. If you choose to install on two or more computers, choose which type of workstation your computer will be. A Server workstation is a workstation that creates and holds the company data, whereas Client workstation is usually your cash register that's used to help customers in their daily sales and have access to the program.
7. Select Install. You'll want to be aware that QuickBooks Point of Sale can only be installed in a specific location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale (version)).
8. After your installation's completed, you'll need to activate the program, then restart your computer and reopen QuickBooks to get started. 

Once you're finished, you can set up your hardware  and begin processing payments .

QuickBooks POS is no longer available for purchase. Existing users may still be able to use the program, but Intuit will no longer support this product. 

The good news is that several Point of Sale solutions are available in the marketplace. Also, QuickBooks has collaborated with Shopify to provide a POS solution that interacts with QuickBooks Desktop Financial Software. You may explore other Point of Sale solutions to determine what works best for your business.
