Welcome @mtch24,

Thanks for checking in with the Community. I can definitely help you with updating your QuickBooks. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Update Now tab. Tip: You can select the Reset Update checkbox to clear all previous update downloads.
  3. Select Get Updates to start the download.
  4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.

I’d also like to give you this article on creating and filing 1099’s for reference: Create and file 1099's

I’ll be around if you have any other questions about 1099’s or anything else. Feel free to ask anytime.

I'm having a similar issue. Would an update be the reason my 1099 Nonemployee compensation amount shows up in the federal income tax withheld box?

Thanks for joining us here today, @Tysha8751.

Doing an update will fix issues in the program including the expected behavior on your 1099 forms. For 1099 non-employee compensation, make sure you've correctly recorded the payments, and accounts are properly mapped.

Learn more about the 1099 forms at these links below:

In case you haven't made an update yet, you can follow the steps above.

If you need help with other tasks in QBDT, you can browse for specific topics here and look for responses that fit your concern.

Let me know if you still have questions or concerns with 1099. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a great day ahead.
