How do you search by amount using the new advanced search feature? How do you search by name for journal entries? Putting in a dollar figure in the amount search box shows nothing for journal entries.. Selecting a name in contact for journal entries shows nothing. Searching journal entries does not show anything in the amount column. How do we get the amount column to show for journal entries?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @alex10180.

Let me make it up to you by helping you get this issue with the Advanced Search feature sorted out.

Beforehand, do you use the Transactions search page or the Classic Advanced Search page when finding the Journal Entries by amount and name?

If you're on the All Transactions search page, we can utilize the More Filters section to expand your search. Otherwise, switch to the Classic Advanced Search page

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Support Team so they can safely pull up your account and investigate this problem further. This way, they'll be able to guide you once they already have a possible fix.

Here's how you can reach out to them:

  1. Go to Help (?), then click Contact Us.
  2. Please enter your question and select Let's talk.
  3. Review and Select from the following: Have us call you or Chat with us.

Please know that when contacting our support, ensure to reach out to them during their available hours.

I'll add this guide to learn more about this function: Search for transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can find transactions in your account registers in case you want to modify them: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers in QuickBooks Online.

I'm still ready to back you up if you need more help locating your QBO transactions. I'll keep the thread open so you can comment back.

There is no ability to use the classic advanced search anymore. I was told by QBO support that I needed to downgrade my account in order to use the classic advanced search.

Thank you for coming back to us with an update, Alex.

Since you can't switch back to the Classic view, I recommend giving feedback about the recent change. You can explain how the new search function has become challenging for you, especially with journal entries.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter the summary of your feedback and click Next.

If you have other questions about the Search feature, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread. I'm just around to help.
