Anyone else have this issue with software blacking out lines

As per checking, we didn't receive similar concerns regarding the program displaying black fields and lines, neebri. No worries, I've got some solutions to get this sorted out.

The factors that trigger this issue to occur are as follows:

  • Issues with video card drivers.
  • Conflicts with Windows themes.
  • Problems with the QBW.ini file.
  • Automatic Updates causing display problems.

Given that, there are several procedures you can choose from to get this matter resolved.

The first option is to run the Quick Fix my Program tool from the QuickBooks Tools Hub. The tool fixes common errors, and pulling it up on Windows 10, 64-bit is advisable. Refer to the steps below.

  1. Close your QuickBooks company file.
  2. Access this link to download the Tool Hub: Download the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub (version 1.6.0.5). Store the file somewhere you can seamlessly locate it.
  3. Open the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instructions to install the tool.
  4. Agree to the given terms and conditions.
  5. Once the installation is complete, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your home screen.
  6. On the Quickbooks Tool Hub, choose Program Problems.
  7. Select Quick Fix my Program.

Option 2: Update your video card drivers to the latest version:

  1. Press the Windows and R buttons on your keyboard simultaneously.
  2. Input the keyword dxdiag and tap Enter.
  3. Choose Display 1 and take note of the Manufacturer/Model.
  4. Download the essential updates:

If the issue persists, you can utilize Solution 3: Change your Windows theme to Basic or Solution 4: Edit the QBW.ini file. Please check out this link for the detailed steps: QuickBooks Desktop fields display black instead of white.

Yes, I've seen it before. I think it has to do with running out of some sort of memory - or is just a QuickBooks bug.
