Ever since Customers/Tenants was "upgraded" invoice numbering is messed up. QBO tells me "invoice numbers are so nice, but you've already used this number. Are you sure you want to use it again?" Fact is, the automatically generated invoice numbers are NOT duplicates. In addition, we never ship anything and we do not ever collect sale tax. It is SO annoying that QBO now assumes we are going to ship something and forces a shipping address and tax liability on my invoices. Even when the tax exempt box is checked in the tenant's profile (because we only ever "invoice" for rent, which so far is exempt from sales tax in every state of the Union) QBO now assumes we are going to collect sales tax. Even our overall company profile says we do not have any sales tax liability. We don't get permits either; don't need that new feature mucking up my invoices. How can I turn off, or at least hide these new features?
Correction about the invoice numbers. After much complicated research, because you can't filter or search for invoice numbers alone, turns out they are duplicates from invoice numbers used in 2016. It looks like the temp bookkeeper we hired in Sept 2019 reset the invoice numbers to 1001, and they have finally caught up to numbers generated in 2016.
