Also, could you let me know if you're encountering any error messages with Data Protect? Any screenshots you can share would also help me identify the problem.

 

Meanwhile, ensure that the Windows Firewall is not blocking Intuit Data Protect. Check your firewall settings to allow the necessary files, ensure your QuickBooks Desktop and Data Protect are up to date, and add Data Protect to your trusted sites.

 

Here's how to add an important file to the Windows firewall:

 

  1. Select the Windows key on your keyboard, and type Firewall in the search field.
  2. Click Allow an app through Windows Firewall, then Allow another app.
  3. Choose Browse and go to Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Data Protect.
  4. Select QBIDPservice.exe, then Open.
  5. Hit Network types and choose the Private checkbox. Click Add.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the files IBUenghost.exe and IntuitDataProtect.exe. If you get a message saying the files already exist, you’re all set.
