 I'd be glad to help fix error 80029c4a when opening QuickBooks, @broken software.

 

To do this, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop, let's ensure to update QuickBooks Desktop to it's latest release. 

 

If you still get the error, even with an updated QuickBooks release, you can check your antivirus software. Some antivirus programs accidentally block QuickBooks from loading essential files. Check the area of your program that lists blocked files (sometimes called your “quarantine”).

 

If you see any of the programs listed below in your quarantine, give them permission to go through your firewall.

  • AutoBackupExe.exe, Dbmlsync.exe, DBManagerExe.exe
  • FileManagement.exe, FileMovementExe.exe, QuickBooksMessaging.exe
  • QBW32.exe, QBDBMgrN.exe, QBGDSPlugin.exe
  • QBServerUtilityMgr.exe, QBCFMonitorService.exe, QBLaunch.exe
  • QBUpdate.exe, IntuitSyncManager.exe, OnlineBackup.exe

If that doesn’t work, let's perform a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop. This will refresh the program files causing Error 80029c4a and won’t affect your data.

 

If you're using QuickBooks Online, you can uninstall and reinstall the program to fix error 80029c4a.

I have had one Navy Federal Credit Card set up in Quickbooks but now have recently issued another Navy Federal Credit card to anther person in the company.  I recently tried to do the online account update (Navy Federal to Quickbooks) but none of the charges on the new card are showing up in QuickBooks.  A little research indicates that I need to set up a parent account and create two subaccounts for the two separate credit cards.  My concern is how do I do that an not impact the years of reconciliation for the one credit card if it is moved to a sub account?  I need assistance.

Thanks for stopping by the Community this afternoon, if you're looking for help setting up your sub accounts then I'm your guy! Follow these steps below and you'll have you sub accounts and parent accounts up and running in no time, also, don't worry about your past reconciliations, doing this won't affect them at all. 

 

Follow these steps to turn an existing account into a subaccount:

  1. Go to the Settings ⚙ icon and click Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the Navy Federal Credit account and select the small arrow ▼ in the action column. Then select Edit.
  3. Select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.
  4. Select Save and Close.

I've got you covered and I have just the steps to help you fix the dynamic link library error message. 

 

As what other users have pointed out, this error happens in QuickBooks Desktop. This is usually caused by a damaged component in the program. 

 

To start off, you'll want to run QuickBooks Tool Hub. This can help fix most issues in the program. Here's how:

 

  1. Download the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open and run the installer and follow the prompts to install it.
  3. After installing, run the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  4. Go to the Program Problems tab. 
  5. Follow the prompts to run the troubleshooting wizard.

There are a variety of reasons for getting this kind of error. It usually arises when:

 

  • QuickBooks components don't start properly.
  • Missing or corrupted files.
  • Anti-virus or security has wrongly marked QuickBooks Executable file. 

 

To get rid of this error permanently, let's first update your anti-virus/security software to the latest release. Then, add component exceptions as per the "User manual" and re-open it. 

 

Next, restart & Register QuickBooks Services & DLL’s using Reboot.bat command. Here's how: 

 

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Open the folder which has the reboot.bat file:
    1. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon and choose properties.
    2. Click Open file location.
    3. Right-click the reboot.bat file and choose Run as Administrator
  3. While on the No Company Open screen, pick Update QuickBooks from the Help menu. 
  4. In the Options tab, choose Mark All and Save.
  5. Mark the Reset Update box in the Update Now tab, then click the Get Updates button.
  6. Once the Update Complete appears, close and re-open the program.
  7. If you get the message to install an update, select Yes. Then, restart your computer after the installation.

I am trying to update payment information for our QB Online subscription.  After I input the bank information, the email confirmation receive shows the correct ABA number, but an incorrect ending account number.

I have tried a couple of times to reenter the information, however the confirmation email continues to show an incorrect ending account number.

The error message for QuickBooks Error Code 80029c4a reads: “Problem: There was an unexpected error reported when trying to run QuickBooks with a company file. Error Code: 80029c4a. Description: Error loading type library / DLL”. 

 

This error message can also occur when a company file has been damage or corrupted. This error is also known as a run-time error and it is causes due to many factors: 

 

Specific reasons for error code 80029c4a include: 

 

  • Some QuickBooks desktop system files are corrupted or cannot be found
  • The QuickBooks application download might be corrupted or incorrectly installed
  • There might be a corrupted Windows registry entry from a recent QuickBooks related software change (install or uninstall)
  • Virus or malware infection could have corrupted Windows system files or QuickBooks related program files
  • Another program could have deleted QuickBooks related files 

 

The following techniques should be tried one at a time and in order to troubleshoot QuickBooks Error Code 80029c4a. 

 

  1. Restart your Computer.

  2. Update QuickBooks.

  3. Run “reboot.bat”.  

  4. Re-launch QuickBooks.
