change color on company file

I accidently hit some strange combination of keys this morning (turned on Narrator), and when I cleared it, the company banner color is now light gray. This is the case on both company files I use, so it seems to be a Quickbooks change, and not company change. Additionally, there is no option under Edit > Preferences > Desktop View (or General) allowing me to change it back. Any ideas as to what could have happened, and how to reverse it, so I can differentiate my company files by color?

I did have night toggle on, but it's not scheduled to come on until 10pm. Not sure why, but when I went back into the file, the color was there, and so was the change option. smh.....

Thank you for your input!

To achieve this, please follow the outlined steps below:

  1. Go to the Edit tab and click Preferences.
  2. Under the My Preferences tab, tick the box beside Switch to colored icons / light background on the Top Icon Bar.
  3. In the Company file color scheme field, choose the color you want.
  4. After that, you'll immediately see the color bar will change to the color that you've selected.
  5. Click OK.

I do not have those options to change the color scheme, is there any other options for QB Online

Enterprise Solutions-NonProfit Edition 18.0?

I'll  help you figure this out, bubbaliz65.

The color scheme option should be available in all versions of QuickBooks Enterprise. You'll find this option in the Desktop View tab from the List menu.

If you're unable to see it, you can install the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This program can help resolve unusual behaviors and errors that a user might face while working in QuickBooks Desktop. For the best experience, we recommend using this tool on Windows 10, 64-bit.

Here's how to download and open the installer:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, it's time to run the Quick Fix my Program utility:

  1. From the tool hub, select the Company File Issues tab.
  2. SelectQuick Fix my Program.
  3. Once the process is completed, click OK and then open QuickBooks again.

I've also added some pages about how to adjust the view preferences like font, sizing, and other display issues.

Drop me a comment below if have any other concerns. It's always my pleasure to help.

Good day, Coxautomotive

Allow me to assist you in resolving some display issues on your QuickBooks Desktop screen.

It's possible that the display on your QuickBooks Desktop windows is irregularly oversized, which explains why black lines appear. To fix this, we can change your display settings in QuickBooks.

To change the display settings:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Type "QuickBooks" into the search. Then right-click the QuickBooks icon and select Open file location.
  4. In the folder, right-click the QuickBooks.exe file and select Properties.
  5. Go to the Compatibility tab.
  6. Select the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox. You can also select Change high DPI settings and then Override high DPI scaling behavior.
  7. Select Apply and then OK.

If you're still having the same display issues, we can adjust your view preferences.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Edit menu
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Select Desktop View from the list and then the My Preferences tab.
  4. In the View section, click the One Window option. Then hit OK.

If the issue persists, you can check out the next step (Step 3: Change your Windows display settings) outlined in this article: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

I've also added this link to learn more about the keyboard shortcuts in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can return to this thread if you have additional questions about QuickBooks settings and navigations. I'll be here to assist. Take care and have a wonderful day!
