Checks

When I print out checks they are not printing the number amount and the date. It prints out the written amount and the name and memo but not the other two. How do I fix this?

When you print checks, it's essential to show the necessary details. Some details may not be viewed on the printed check by default. You may adjust the print settings to your preference to display the wanted details. Follow the steps on how: 

 

  1. Go to the File menu and click Printer Setup.
  2. Select Check/Paycheck at the Form Name drop-down.
  3. Choose Voucher check for the check style.
  4. On the right panel, click Align
  5. Print a sample and compare it to your pre-printed checks.
  6. Adjust the vertical and horizontal settings using the grid on the sample and click OK
  7. Hit Align again and print another sample. 
  8. Adjust the alignment again if needed.
  9. You may repeat steps 4 to 8 until you achieve your wanted alignment.

That does not work it is still not printing the amount and date. only now it does not print correctly on the checks

This did not work. All it did was make them print horizontally on my checks and it is still not printing the date or amount.

To begin with, you can run the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. The QuickBooks Tool Hub helps fix common errors. You'll need to close QuickBooks to use the tool hub. For the best experience, we recommend you use Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.

 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). 
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

Next, is to run the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. Here's how: 

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. It will take about a minute to run.
  3. Print, email, or save as a PDF from QuickBooks Desktop again.

 

Moreover, if this still doesn't fix the issue then I recommend restarting your computer and then try again. If this doesn't fix the issue, reset your temp folder permissions. And, Test if you can print to your XPS (only for Save as PDF and Email issues). QuickBooks uses parts of the XPS Document Writer (Microsoft Windows product) to save as a PDF. Test to see if you can print to your XPS Document Writer.

Matt did you ever get this issues resolved? I am having the same issue and tried everything in the thread with no success. If you did resolve the issue, what did you do to resolve it?
