Client Tax form E-filing

We have clients who have their own Intuit Payroll accounts, but not the full service or the enhanced payroll.  Will there be a conflict in the system if we add them to our payroll subscription in a restored company file and e-file their tax forms and W-2s.

Client Tax form E-filing

Hello there, @KelbyR.

You can add your clients to your payroll subscription without any conflict as long as you register as the E-filer of that company. And make sure that the Payroll Service Key of you're client is added to your subscription, then manually enter the service key:

To enter the service key in QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. From the Employees menu, select Payroll, and select Enter Service Key.
  2. If you have an existing payroll subscription, you are prompted to specify if you want to add this file to your payroll subscription. Select Skip to go to the Service Key window, or Add File to add this file to an existing Payroll subscription.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Enter the service key, and select Next.
  5. confirmation message appears.
  6. Select Finish.

For more details, just click this article: Enter your payroll service or disk delivery key

Once entered, you can now e-file your client's tax forms and W-2s. In case you need further assistance, I'd recommend contacting our Support Team. They have tools that can securely guide in setting up the service key of your client.

To reach them in your QuickBook Desktop (QBDT):

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion of your concerns and click Continue.
  5. Click Start Message to connect with them.
