I use QBO daily, via Chrome on my desktop. I'm mostly in the Expense/Vendor/Banking modules, and when looking at a list of vendors or a list of expenses, multiple times per day I have to resize the columns to see the data I want. So for instance, I'd search for a vendor and click in, then have to fiddle with the column widths to be able to read information or even access the View/Edit dropdown on transactions. Often it is slid off the side of the screen.
I have not been able to find any settings that will stick - I can adjust columns and choose Compact and turn things on and off each time, but as soon as I refresh the page or go to a different vendor or module, I have to adjust all over again. I can change the browser zoom level to see all the columns, but then the print is smaller than I prefer. It's very frustrating, and I have not been able to find any sort of layout settings that carry through the online experience. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Saving the customized appearance on your Vendors page is a great functionality, Kim.
The option to stick to the adjusted column is unavailable. QuickBooks Online depends on the Windows font. As a workaround, I recommend adjusting the Settings on your browser to reduce the sizes. Here's how:
Also, you can click the Hamburger icon beside your company name. Doing so allows the Vendors page to have more space. For visual reference, I've added a screenshot below.
I can see how this functionality would be beneficial when performing your tasks. I encourage sending feedback directly to our Product Development team. This helps us improve the features of the program. I'll show you how:
Additionally, you can browse this article that'll help you manage your vendors' profiles and check their money interactions: View Vendor Transactions. It'll help you ensure your record is accurate.
Please leave a reply below if you need additional assistance in customizing and reducing the font and screen size of your QuickBooks account. I'll be right here to lend a helping hand. Keep safe!

TBH, I'm not going to bother submitting this problem to the product development team. I come to this forum frequently to look for answers about niggling annoyances in how QBO functions that should have been included in any basic accounting software, and 99 times out of 100 the threads I find are very old and filled with 'will they ever fix this? It's been XX years now.'
So have pretty much zero faith that my submitting a problem to that team will result in any improvement to my daily experience with the program. Once I start to see follow-ups that say 'I submitted, and they fixed it!' I might change my mind, but until then I won't waste my time.
Thanks for your attempt to help,

I am experiencing the same problem in Customers. My views are suddenly all over the place. I need to be able to adjust the column width. This is such a time waster - Ugh! Every time there is an update or "improvement" in QBO something else gets messed up. Doesn't QBO Beta test anything?
I am having the same issue in Bills. Columns keep resetting every time I need to create a new bill. Were you able to find a solution other than what was suggested? So frustrating and time consuming. They should add a feature to save templates for this reason. Or just fix the issue! It used to work just fine and now all of a sudden with the new update, it doesn't work.
We recognize the relevance and convenience of performing QuickBooks tasks.
We understand how crucial managing program interfaces is when working with your file, and please know this isn't the experience we want you to have on a day-to-day basis. However, the ability to keep column widths and other window changes as it was is unavailable in the online version. We're aware of how challenging it is to modify these bill transactions manually when managing QuickBooks tasks. That said, I'll help you relay your valuable input to our software developers so they can consider implementing your request in our upcoming product updates. To do that:
Here's how to submit feedback:

Well, now the problem of QBO not remembering column width changes is a problem no longer, because now, Intuit no longer lets you change the column widths. As a result of a recent "update," column widths are no longer adjustable in QBO. (Verified via chat with support.)
To my mind, that is not an update, it is a DOWNGRADE.

Wonderful.
My column widths are now changing and cutting off the amount of the deposits from the bank. Just stated this week.
I came here and see this is over 10 months old.
Does this mean I just got my answer that nothing is being done about it?
Having more control over the display settings in QuickBooks Online is a great feature, WilliamK.
Since QuickBooks Online relies on the Windows font, the option to preserve modified column widths is unavailable. As a workaround, I recommend adjusting your browser settings to decrease the text size, enabling all information to fit into the columns. Alternatively, you can expand the page space by clicking the hamburger icon next to your company name.
Moreover, I'd like to help you relay your valuable insight on the significance of this feature to enhance your QuickBooks experience. I'll list the steps below to send feedback to our product engineers so they can consider adding this option in future updates.
Additionally, you can explore our support page for comprehensive resources on effectively utilizing QuickBooks Online.

I agree about it not being fixed. All of a sudden today everytime I go into an estimate or an invoice I have to change the column width. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!
