How do I increase the contrast on my Pay Bills window? No other window is so light. I know how to change colors in the registers (and the contrast there is just fine), but I can hardly read this?
I don't think it's a monitor issue - because it's only this window.
I'm running QB 2020 Desktop for Mac.
Thanks
Margot
Hello there, @phillipsgarden.
I appreciate the information and the detailed screenshot you've added.
At this time, this is how the window looks like when paying bills in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. QuickBooks is designed to gray out the columns except for the Amt. Paid. I understand your point of making the texts or fonts clearer so we can see and read them. I'll be taking note of this information and pass along the suggestion to our product engineers. This way, they'll be able to know our customer needs and work on or consider the feature in the coming updates.
As always, feel free to visit our Mac Little Square page and download the user's guide in case you need tips and related topics while working with QuickBooks in the future.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!
Thanks for the response -- but I'm afraid it doesn't make sense to me. I've attached a very legible screenshot of the same window from a different company I handle.
That one has always been easy to read. I've used QB continuously (various versions, of course) since prior to 2001. The one I asked about earlier is a newly-added-to-QB company. Why the difference?
Thanks for your response, but it doesn't make sense. I use QB 2020 Mac desktop for two different companies. The one I asked about earlier is newly-added-to-QB company (Feb 2020). But I have used QB Desktop continuously (various versions, of course) for the other company since 2001 and have NEVER had issues reading the text in that window.
I've attached a screenshot of my original company...
Thanks.
Margot
Thanks for coming back for more support, @phillipsgarden. I appreciate you for sharing your screenshots.
Since this issue only occurred in this specific company file, let's perform the troubleshooting steps to help fix some minor data problems.
First off, we'll need to run the Verify Rebuild Data Utility tool to isolate the issue. Here's how:
Then, run the Verify Data utility to detect any additional issues on your company file. Here's how:

I ran those utilities before I asked the question...but just to be sure, I did it again just now.
Nothing has changed. To reiterate, it's only a few windows - here's another I noticed this morning - the Receive Payments Window.
Any other clues? My 60-year-old eyes have trouble with this!
Thanks for your help.

Hi, phillipsgarden.
I appreciate your time and effort in trying those troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.
There are no reported issues about this. Since this is only happening to the newly added company file, I suggest reaching out to our support team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and do some additional troubleshooting steps to help you fix the issue.
Here's how:
I have included these help articles for Reports and accounting for your future reference.
Post a reply to this thread if you have any other concerns. I'll always be here to help.
The QB help window sends me to Little Square. Believe me, I've tried that. It sends me in a circle back to this page.
I'm extremely frustrated about this.
Good Afternoon, @phillipsgarden.
Since you're not able to view the Help menu to get in contact with our Customer Support Team, then I recommend going to this link. This link will take you to the QuickBooks Desktop for Mac website to get help. All you need to do is press the Chat live now option in the bottom right-hand corner and then start your message. They'll be able to look further into your account to see what's causing this to occur.
If you run into any trouble along the way, just let me know. I want to make sure that you're able to get this resolved as soon as possible. Have a wonderful day!
Did you ever find a solution. I’m having the same problem and about to go blind. I have tried all the help and support with no luck actually speaking to a human.
