I need help!! I have to convert a peachtree 2002 software company file to a QB desktop pro 2020 program. I have to switch from peachtree to QB. Unfortunately the previous bookkeeper didn't wait for the corp acct to finish closing peachtree and started the QB program and entered in wrong information. I am needing to start over from scratch. Can someone help me? I have downloaded the QB converstion tool and that doesn't work, I have tried to find a peachtree conversion tool and haven't found one that works. It seems impossible but there has to be a fix. I did see converting the files to excel but don't know how that works. I am looking at wanting to transfer the A/R, A/P, Payroll, G/L, Check Register files to QB. I also have an old version of QB Desktop 2015 Accountant software on an old laptop that I thought I could use to create another new company file to use to start from scratch but it wouldn't convert as well. I am not converting to QB online.
Your Peachtree version is ancient and you should consider to purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
I appreciate you sharing detailed information, MJ. I completely understand the importance of having a seamless conversion. I can help you move your data with Excel in your QuickBooks Desktop.
You can consider Deity Apha's suggestion or proceed with importing your data. Converting from Sage 50, formerly known as Peachtree, is possible. However, this tool isn't compatible with Sage 50 from 2014 or an older version.
Before importing your data, you'll need to save your lists or reports in Excel or CSV format in your Peachtree. You can transfer your account, customer, employee, inventory/item, and vendor lists.
Here's how to import using MS Excel:

You can also generate a Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, A/R Aging detail, and A/P Aging detail reports to bring in your balances. Before you move them to QuickBooks, run these for the matching dates. This approach will help ensure a seamless transition.
Refer to this article for more information on what data you can import: Switch from a different accounting software to QuickBooks Desktop.
If you want to choose a 3rd party conversion tool, feel free to explore our QuickBooks Desktop Marketplace. You can discover the available choices, evaluate their features, read user reviews.
Moreover, you can visit our Help pages. It contains detailed articles that provide comprehensive instructions and guidelines on managing QuickBooks Desktop more efficiently.
It's essential to verify the data, take a data backup, and create a new company file to avoid any previous errors. Exploring a 3rd party app conversion tool will help you transfer your data successfully.
Thank you for your advise. I don't have alot of extra $$ to spend on a 3rd party solution. I appreciate your input.
Thank you, I will try this and let you know how it goes. How do I come back to this post so that I am not scrolling through alot of pages? I am new to this.
Can you upgrade your data to a newer version of Peachtree?
