Let me share some information about Sonoma.
When upgrading the Sonoma 14.1 in the 2020 version, there's a chance that it will work, but there's no guarantee that it will work 100 percent because from 2020 to the present version, Sonoma was not supported anymore; Sonoma is only supported in a lower version.

Has anyone confirmed that 14.1.1 also works with QB 2019?
14.1 works fine; everything I need works well, want to make sure 14.1.1 also works.
Yes I am on Sonoma 14.1.1 and it works great. Thanks!
Has anyone tested QBDT 2019 with Sonoma 14.1.2? I made the mistake of installing the first Sonoma version; it did not go well. I had to wipe my Mac and reinstall everything and do NOT want to have to do that again!
Thanks!
Every time Apple releases an update for Sonoma, you'll always ask the same questions. Contact me in private and we might share a solution to avoid reinstalling your Mac to run QB.
@ronnarubin , QB 2019 is working on my MacBook Pro running 14.1.2
Thank you for letting me know!
Thank you for letting me know!
Now Im confused. I have QBD 2021 and Ive been waiting to upgrade to sonoma but now this comment has confused me in it stating that Sonoma only supports 2019 and older and not 2020 and newer? Can anyone confirm their 2021 QBD works well with Sonoma? Thank you
Yes, @SpCadet. QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 works well with Sonoma. Allow me to elaborate and clarify your confusion.
QBDT 2021 is designed to work seamlessly with Sonoma, offering users the ability to integrate their accounting processes with Sonoma's business management platform. It's important to note that while QuickBooks Desktop 2021 is fully compatible with Sonoma, it is no longer supported for integration with older versions such as 2019 and earlier iterations of QuickBooks Desktop.
That said, to leverage the benefits of Sonoma's integration with QuickBooks, users are encouraged to upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2021 or a supported version to ensure optimal functionality and compatibility. This upgrade will not only provide access to the latest features and improvements but also ensure a smooth and efficient integration with Sonoma for streamlined business operations.

Thank you for the link to download QBDT for Mac 2021. Next up is to register the product. For that I need to purchase a new license (mine is for QBDT for Mac 2020). I was recently informed that Intuit is no longer selling licenses for anything other than 2024. If that is true, is there another way to purchase a license for QBDT for Mac 2021?
Contact me in private and we can offer a few options to consider.
From my understanding, the 2021 licenses offered now are only annual anyway, and 2021 likely won't be supported much longer, if at all, in 2024.
All current versions of 2019, 2020, and 2021 still work fine on Sonoma since 14.1+
Now it fails to open the company file in Ventura 13.6.3 as of 1/1/2024. Freezes on the spinning beach ball and overheats the machine and the only option is to "force quit" Quickbooks for Mac 2019.
By the way, holding the option key when opening Quickbooks for Mac 2019 does NOTHING.
How did you get there? I managed to install Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2019 on a Mac Studio (Apple Silicon) and the app will not open at all! Just click the QB icon and it instantly generates the report that it quit suddenly and offers to send the report or reopen, the later just doing the same thing.
I did have the app working in Ventura 13.6.1, but after 13.6.3 it only allow the app to open. As soon as I try to open a company file, it locks up and my only way out is to "force quit" the Quickbooks app. It will not open my company file that it previously worked well with.
Is your Mac running an Intel processor, or Apple Silicon? I think it makes a difference.
That's always a potential risk of running an outdated QB version on recent MacOS. Consider to install the trial version of QBD 2020 and 2021 to isolate the problem.
Precisely!
I tried QBDT for Mac 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024 on an Intel powered MacBook Pro running Ventura, and on a Mac Studio M2 running Sonoma 14.3. As of January 1, 2024, all versions of QB exhibited the same behavior on all macOS' on both machines with one exception - QBDT for Mac 2019 did not wait until you tried to open your company file before it crashed on the Mac Studio M2 running Sonoma 14.3, it crashed instantly! So, whatever the bug is, it affects all recent versions of QBDT for Mac, regardless of the macOS (Ventura or Sonoma). And, how are you supposed to migrate to another software if you cannot open any of your QB company files? That's a 100% rebuild from paper files for at least 3 years!
As of January 1, 2024, all versions of QB exhibited the same behavior on all macOS' on both machines
It's been almost a month and I monitor the Community every day but haven't found any similar reports from other members. Consider reinstalling your MacOS.

There is NO trial version of QBDT for windows, but for QB Enterprise. That is not an option.
Great, you can download QBDT for Mac 2021. I've done that much. But how/where do you get a license for it to be able to use it more than 15 times?
I can share the trial code for QBD 2021 Pro. Since QBD 2022 they only offer the trial version for Mac and Enterprise.
But how/where do you get a license for it to be able to use it more than 15 times?
