Yesterday I spent the day clicking into individual customers' information and working with their recurring transactions. Each customer had five tabs of information -- transactions, recurring trns/templates, statements, projects & details.
Today if I open a customer the recurring transaction tab is missing - so I cannot see what templates are saved for that particular customer. Instead there's a click link to "view recurring templates" which takes me to the big list.
Where is the tab?!?
I've relied on that feature heavily with this stupid new experience as I can no longer create a recurring template identical to an invoice I already spent time creating. And that tab, showing a particular customer's saved templates with their other information was one of the bright spots of QBO.
Solved! Go to Solution.
In the new QuickBooks experience, the recurring transaction tab is changed to view recurring templates that display all the created templates, IKJatWork. I'll help you send a feature request about this feature.

I also used this feature constantly. When it was introduced it improved my workflow greatly. When it went away randomly, it's disrupted my procedures. Quickbooks changes the UI too often and without any clear reason, which interrupts accounting procedures.
I'll certainly file a comment because the removal of the ability to memorize an invoice template that one has already spent a lot of time on is insane. I can't even just create a copy and click 'make recurring' -- no I have to start from scratch!
My workflow for our monthly billing tripled because not only did I have to check every invoice to make sure the template style had not been switched to 'modern', but I also had to continually reinvent the wheel creating recurring templates from scratch instead of simply 'memorizing' an invoice as a template.
A monthly process that used to take only 2 concentrated days of work to complete with QBD is now sucking up a week or more with having to double/triple check and reinvent work.
One of the articles you linked says "Recurring templates can help you save time." Yeah, only if you have basic templates and rarely have to update information to a specific customer.
