Just wanted to update my post with the news that my QB2023 is now able to create letters in Word. Not sure if it was a QB fix or a MS fix.
I am also happy to report that my QB Desktop Pro 2018 is also now reconnected to MS Word and exporting documents correctly.
I wanted to share a success that I just had with this issue. When I attempted to run my Customer Letters through QB Desktop Premier 2021, I was receiving a Windows Security Virus & Threat protection warning. Essentially, Windows Security Defender was blocking this action. I ran a Windows update, and then had our IT person "whitelist" the qbword.dot app. And after this, I was able to create my Word letters again!!
I think it is working now.
Word is finally opening with Mail merge for both the 2023 Desktop version and 2019 Desktop version of Quickbooks. It only took about 3 months. Wonder if we will be receiving any partial refund or extension for the hassle?
I understand the hassle and waiting time you have to go through in dealing with this issue, jpivec.
I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools to pull up your account securely and provide information if you're eligible for a refund.
