Customer list slow to propagate. It gets laggy QB Enterprise 2021

Good morning! My QB has been quite slow lately. The customer list will lag when I type the letters to jump to, and mind you, the star isn't enabled, and the Active Customers is what's selected. When I take it to full list only, that's when it speeds up to normal, but once I let it "show list and details" it goes to the laggy performance.

Customer list slow to propagate. It gets laggy QB Enterprise 2021

Good afternoon, @ITT3chguy21

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community for support. I hope you're enjoying the day so far.

To clarify, are you noticing any latency issues aside from the customer list? Or is this happening when you're using any list in your company file?

If so, it sounds like you may have some data integrity issues within your lists. Don't sweat. This can be easily repaired by resorting your lists. I've included the steps below to resort the lists.

Please know that you'll need to be in single user mode before completing the steps. Also, this will set your list back to default, so if you manually changed the order of your lists, resorting will undo these changes.

Here's how to resort the master list (This is list of your customers' jobs, vendors, employees, and other names):

  1. From the Banking menu, select Write Checks.
  2. Click in the Pay to the order of field, then press Ctrl+L on your keyboard.
  3. Tap the Include Inactive checkbox. If it's grayed out, there are no inactive names.
  4. Select the Name dropdown, then hit Re-sort List.
  5. Click on OK.
  6. Close and reopen your company file.

If you're still noticing latency issues, let's manually resort each list individually. Here's how you can do that:

  1. From the Lists menu, select the list you need to re-sort.
  2. Tap on the Include Inactive checkbox. If it's grayed out, there are no inactive names.
  3. Go to the View menu, then choose Re-sort Lists.
  4. Click on OK.

Once you have resorted each list, close and reopen your company file.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always here to lend hand. Take care!

Customer list slow to propagate. It gets laggy QB Enterprise 2021

This did not fix the issue. It's working for everyone else, but I also went on the machine that hosts the QB company file, went into single user mode, scheduled weekly backups, verified and rebuilt the company file as well as condensed the file to help improve speed and performance. I even ran every tool in the QB repair toolhub, Quick fix my program, program diagnostics. I also repaired the program through windows uninstaller. Neither of these things helped. I can't count how many times I've called QB and they have been of no help. Everything they ask me to do is beneath me, I'm always 20 steps ahead, and I just frankly don't call QB support anymore because I can never get somebody who understands IT technicalities.
