Decimal Point and Dollars Default

Regardless of where I'm at in Quickbooks Desktop.  When I enter "56" (or whatever number) and hit enter - QB assumes I meant 5.60, not 56.00.

How do I change that default, so when I enter a number, it assumes it is a whole number and places the decimal point after what I entered?

Decimal Point and Dollars Default

Hi there, RedTopConstruction!

You can disable the option to automatically place a decimal point to resolve this.

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. From the My Preferences tab, uncheck the Automatically Place Decimal Point box.
  4. Click OK.

After changing, you can restart QuickBooks and create transactions.

Let me know how the steps work for you. Take care!
