Get 50% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowIf i have a client that doesn't have QuickBooks online, if they get QuickBooks online payroll only, and want to e-file 1099's but they don't do direct deposits is there a way to create the "check" with the total amount the vendor got all year so QuickBooks online can e-file the 1099? I get confused with the contractors subscriptions and if its part of the payroll or not, I know there is another subscription for just contractors.
So basically i need to know if a client only have the contractors subscription or payroll, can they e-file 1099's if they don't have the checks there and maybe create a one check in December with the total so the 1099 can be created. The IRS has a paper limit of 10 1099's so we want to figure out what our clients should do. Thank you!

Hi, @Julissa5.
Yes, you can subscribe to QuickBooks Payroll (QBP) and QuickBooks Contractor Payments (QBCP) without subscribing to QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'd be glad to share some links with you for the plans:
Once you subscribe to a plan, you can create and file your 1099 form. Let me guide you through the process.
When subscribed to QBP, you can follow these steps:

Thank you, when i see the plans, for the contractor it says after 20 contractors is $2 additional and for the clients that have payroll plan is extra $6 per contractor.
For the clients that i need this for is lithe they'll create the "fake check" with the total for the year in December, do they have to pay per contractor every month or just the month of December that is when they are creating the checks? are this fees referring to direct deposit or how is that fee comes into the plan?
Hi, Julissa5. I've got the information you need regarding the fees.
Employers can pay a flat fee of $15 per month for up to 20 contractors. There are no additional per-contractor fees. However, if you have more than 20 contractors, you will be billed $2 per additional contractor.
Meanwhile, your clients will still have to pay the monthly usage fee for the active contractors not covered by the basic plan. This fee covers the sending of payments, e-filing of your 1099, and contractor self-setup.
Each plan comes with its own set of features. To learn more about it, you can check out this article: QuickBooks Contractor Payments.
On the other hand, you can send unlimited payments once you've subscribed to a contractor payments plan.
Additionally, you can set up and manage direct deposit for your contractor. This simplifies payment processing, eliminating paper checks and reducing wait times for both you and your contractors.
You can still reach out to me by tapping the reply button below. If you need further clarification regarding the fees and plans, I'd be available to assist. Best wishes!
Thank you! if you can reach out to me next week it'll be perfect, i can talk any day but not Monday, please let me know how to get in contact with you!
