Email receipts info not being extracted

Hi, new user here. When I forward uber or lyft email receipts, they show up under "needs attention" with no info extracted. The image button only shows one of the route maps, like it isn't seeing the whole email. Is this normal? How can I get all the info to autopopulate? Thanks!

Hi bd3517,

 

You'll want to make sure that the email receipts match to your downloaded transactions. This way, the receipts won't show up under needs attention.

 

Once your bank account is connected to QuickBooks Self-Employed, the receipt has to match to a transaction coming from the feed. However, if the receipts are unable to find a match, it goes into the Needs Action folder to avoid creating duplicates.

 

On the other hand, if the account isn't connected to QuickBooks Self-Employed account, we match the receipt against your transactions.  If we find a match, we attach the receipt to the existing transaction. If we don't find one, we create a new transaction.

Thank you for the quick reply!  There is a matching transaction, but the scanned receipt contains no information except the route map - the rest of the email forwarded is not in there. In QB it shows up as a png image file, where the other ones that work show up as a PDF.  This issue happens with uber receipts but not with other receipts so I think the issue is with extracting the info from uber receipts. happy to send along more info or send you the emails that don't work directly to help with reproducing the problem.  Thanks again for the help!

To further investigate why the Uber receipts didn't extract, I would recommend contacting Customer Support. They have the specific tools to pull up and check your account. 

 

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click Help menu at the top. 
  2. Hit Contact us at the bottom. 
  3. In the 1 Ask a question (or tell us what's wrong) section, type in your concern. 
  4. Pick Continue.
  5. Choose the method on how you'd be connected to support.
