Join nowI asked this question an hour ago, but I cannot find the question in the forum so I guess it got lost.
I am considering switching from desktop to online. Does online version allow me to use my desktop outlook email program to send the attached invoices, like the desktop version does?
Hopefully this is the correct forum - there is no button for "ask a question", only "start a discussion" so maybe that's why my questions keep getting lost....
You're in the correct forum, jeff56565656.
Unlike the Desktop version, emailing invoices from QuickBooks Online will be sent through quickbooks@notification.intuit.com.
Here's an article about emailing sales form for more details: Email Sales Forms Directly To Your Customers From QuickBooks Online.
I can also see that the first question you've posted has been answered by one of my colleagues. Let me link you to that thread: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Other-questions/emailing-invoices-with-online-version/m-p/25....

Having messages come from quickbooks isn't a feature, its a massive flaw. I'm blown away that a company of this size, which charges as much as they do, don't allow you to add SMTP information (just like quickbooks for desktop).
What a joke. I'm evaluating this solution for 10 store owners... don't think I can over look this... maybe Xero is the way to go.
totally agree with this.
Having just completed my first invoice online, the thought of sending it to my clients via an obscure quickbooks email address totally contradicts the personal nature of my business and my relationship with my clients.
Surely this is something you have to resolve! Please!
it's a basic feature and so easy to support nowadays with connectors and SMTP options. Please add!
