Buy nowI know that there's no longer support from QB POS connected to Enterprise Desktop.
Can I ask one question please? Is there a .qwc file for Quickbooks POS that allows it to become an integrated application in Desktop?
Everything was working as usual and then it wasn't.
Thank you for any help.
Jim
Thanks for dropping by the Community, @jiminok.
I'm here to lend a hand on how you can get the file you need for QuickBooks Desktop.
First, you'll have to set up a Web Connector so you can find a third-party web application provider that can give you the .qwc. To do this, you can go to the Intuit Developer site and download the latest Web Connector version. They can also guide you further with the installation process.
From there, the file will be provided to you by the third-party web application provider. Then, this file must be downloaded to your computer and integrated it with QBDT.
To find out more details about what Web Connector is, check out this handy article: Set up QuickBooks Web Connector.
Fill me in if you have more queries with QBDT-related tasks. I'd be glad to assist you further. Take care always and best regards.
Thank you for your response and willingness to help.
I wasn't very clear in my post. The only application we need to integrate is QB POS 19. (We use Desktop Enterprise 2021). QB POS was still updating the Desktop, until two weeks ago. But then, the connection got dropped somehow and it can't reconnect. What is unclear to me is whether QB POS needs to have a .qwc file in order to connect with QB Desktop on the same LAN.
When I look under Preferences --> Integrated Applications in QB Desktop, there is no Quickbooks POS. I wasn't sure if I needed a .qwc for QB POS to integrate. If so, is it something that can be downloaded or does it need to be written from scratch?
I've looked everywhere and haven't found an answer to that.
Thank you!
I understand you need to integrate the QuickBooks POS 19.0 version to QuickBooks Desktop, @jiminok. I'll share some information and ensure you can get the needed solution.
I recognize that the .qwc file is used to facilitate this integration. Please know that QuickBooks POS 19.0 has already been discontinued by Intuit for some reason.
The platform we use for our Point of Sale software is quite distinctive. It requires significant upkeep, and adding new features can be quite challenging. In this situation, I advise processing your data in advance before using a different method or a third-party application that can carry out this kind of work.
Furthermore, I'm also adding this QuickBooks Blog as your reference about the Point of Sales discontinuation. There are questions and answers provided to guide you accordingly about this topic.
