Hello there, @bugx-att-net. I understand the urgency to get this matter sorted out as soon as possible. I'm here to help you.
The current default browser of all supported versions of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will use our new custom browser or the built-in browser. With that, you'll want to update to the latest release of your QuickBooks account before you proceed with exporting your company file to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can refer to this article for more details about the changes to the internal browser: Use our built-in browser in QuickBooks Desktop.
Once everything is updated and ready to proceed with exporting data, see these articles for guidance and tips:

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
I too have the same issue trying to export the company data from Quickbooks desktop. My Quickbooks desktop software is up to date. I have tried switching default browser from Edge to Chrome on my computer but to no avail.
Consistent error message as per below when using the command "Company/Export your company data to Quickbooks online:
Which QB Desktop year version do you run?
Hi there, PNJG.
QuickBooks Desktop previously used Internet Explorer 11 as its default browser, but Microsoft ended its support last June 15, 2022.
As a result, all supported versions like QuickBooks Desktop Pro/Premier/Enterprise/Accountant 2020, 2021, and 2022 will use our new custom browser starting June 10, 2022. You just need to make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
If you've already updated QuickBooks but the issue persists, I recommend reaching our Support Team to investigate further and create a ticket if necessary.
Here's how:

I am running QuickBooks Pro 2021 - subscription service. All updates have successfully installed and I am running the current release.
I have the exact same issue - did it get resolved?
I appreciate you joining the thread and sharing your concerns here in the Community, @Katieiom. We're here to ensure you can export your company file from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
First, ensure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Edge installed on your computer. You can visit the official Microsoft Edge website to download and install the latest version.
Then, make sure QuickBooks is up-to-date. Follow these steps:
Know that there are limitations when you convert your file. Once done, I recommend running the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports to ensure that you transferred your data correctly. To verify your reports in both products, filter the date period to All Dates and the accounting method to Accrual. For more information, check out this article: Guide After Conversion.
I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about the process. Just leave a comment below. Have a good one and keep safe.
The issue is because the function is no longer available for UK customers - despite the fact that on my uk quickbooks online account this specific process is instructed. After spending over 1 hour on hold I was told that I can’t use the function because I’m in the uk.
instead we are forced to use the migrate tool function (since quickbooks desktop is no longer available for us either) and if we want more than 2 years of data then we have to pay £75 per year for it.
so basically if we don’t pay we lose access to all our data because we are being forced to migrate away from desktop. Not fair IMO from quickbooks.
After being on hold for over an hour I was told that the function isn’t available for UK users.
despite the fact that on my quickbooks online UK account it specially gives these instructions to upload the data from desktop. That was a waste of time with quickbooks providing incorrect instructions on their own system.
instead I have to use the migrate tool however this only allows access to upload 2 years worth of data or pay £75 per year (on top of the online subscription). Or lose full access to your data.
i think that’s entirely unfair considering we’re being forced to migrate data due to quickbooks desktop being taken away but what can we do, our data that I have paid to collate in a now forced cancelled software is being held ransom…
Hi, Were you able to migrate to online because I'm also facing the same problem, and I don't get why I have to pay for online subscription and also pay for migration. Also, the migration service is inaccurate. I did a one-year transfer, and the trial balance was incorrect compared to my last audited accounts on desktop.
Thank you for bringing up your concern regarding the incorrect balance you encountered after migrating your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Bkinyanjui. I'm here to share insights about this issue.
When you migrate your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, you may notice some differences in the way your books appear. These discrepancies can include variations in terminologies, features, items, lists, preferences, reports, and transactions. This happens because the migration process involves transferring data from one platform to another, and each platform may have its own presentation or handling of the data.
To ensure the accuracy of your migrated data, it's recommended to review and reconcile your financial information after the migration. This involves carefully comparing your last audited accounts on QBDT with the trial balance in QBO and identifying any discrepancies. Consulting with an accountant or a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor can provide valuable insight and guidance tailored to your specific business needs. They can help you understand the differences between QBDT and QBO and assist in reconciling your financial data accurately.
