Join nowI updated and now the area where I enter ITEMS/DESCRIPTION/AMOUNT is so small! I can only see 4 lines and sometimes I have 10 things I am charging for. Before, I could see everything. Now I have to scroll up and down and it's easy to miss things or repeat charges. How can I make this window longer?
Hello there, Pinto.
You can adjust the column. Just hover your mouse on the column side, you'll see a Cross icon, then adjust it.
Check the screenshot as your reference.

Hi, I tried hovering the mouse over the outer window of the ITEM/DESCRIPTION box on the Sales Receipt but it does not show a cross. It shows an icon that looks like a capital I with a line on the top and a line of the bottom of the I. It doesn't move anything. Any other suggestions?
See how your image shows many lines for ITEM?DESCRIPTION? I would like mine to look like that. My window is like working on a small cell phone where I can only see 4-5 lines. I don't want to make the column more wide. I would like to be able to see at least 15 lines going downwards so I can see what I have entered. With just 4-5 lines I can't see what is already entered (sometimes I get interrupted and can put things in twice or miss an item all together). Before I updated my window looked like the window you attached to your answer. Thank you.
Hi there, Pinto.
I'm here to guide you on how to how more line items in your Sales Receipt window.
You can maximize the window of your Sales Receipt to show more that five lines. I've attached a screenshot for your reference.
Otherwise, you can change QuickBooks Desktop DPI settings:
I'll leave you with an article for the detailed troubleshooting steps on how to customize display settings in QuickBooks Desktop: QuickBooks Desktop display issues.
Let me know if you've got any other questions for me. I'm always happy to answer them for you.
This is what helped: in the Sales Receipt window there is a bar that says, from left to right, "Main Formatting Send/Ship Reports Payments and then you see a square made of 4 arrows pointing outwards. Click on that not the box that was suggested in Answers earlier in this thread. Also changing the DPI didn't help either. Thank you.
