When I enter a line item in budgeting that line item will "float" on my screen until I click on another account. It makes it challenging to see the accounts as I scroll through with that overlay. How can I stop this?

Hello, ccurie.
I hear you and realize the importance of being able to work with your QuickBooks with no hassle. And we will work for hand in hand with this. In QuickBooks, when you enter a line item in your budget, the account will overlay as this is working as design, so you can finish working on that line. You can click the X or finish the budget for that account before moving to another line.

Hi, Strickland12.
I understand how you feel when things aren't working the way you wanted them to be working.
Please note that our goal is to help save time and keep things simple when doing a task in your account. But, as mentioned by my peer above, it is working as designed. And the only way to move to another line is to click the X option.

Hello,
I am also having the same Issue. Thank you for the explanation. It is clear for me.
When you click on the X it deletes the entire line. It doesn't close the line. I have yet to find a way to "close" the line to move on the next. It continues to float as you scroll to the next account.
Clicking on the X deletes the entire line. I want the data I entered. I just want to move to the next line without it floating through all the other accounts.
Thanks for getting back to us in the Community, @ccurie. I'll share some insight to help you on your query with QuickBooks Online.

I'm having the same issue. The "floating" line is horrible. It serves no purpose.
